Okay, well, after what greyeyedgirl posted, I felt the need to do the same. ____
So, this guy and I have been friends for about two years. I my opinion, it was almost as if we started to like each other the moment we met. Now,after Sunday (the 21st) - I have no clue when I'm going to see him again. Yet, I just found out he's almost three years younger than me. Worst of all, one of my friends keeps going on and on about her having a crush on him. (I still don't know if this true or not ...). When I was in Seussical two years ago, with him, it was obivous he liked me and freaked out He wrote a love letter to me that read, "Dear Mrs. Mayor, I like you green eggs and ham. Horton Your Secret Admirer." Then he ended up crying because this guy, who claimed he wrote it, confronted him in front of me and three of my really good friends. I still like him, but I have no idea if he still feels the same way. What do you recommend I say to him to show that I still like him?

I know when I told my best friend that I liked him I made a right mess of it, trust me blurting out "Are you in love with me ?" is not the way to go. Cue horrified look from him and an No! And for me I couldn't tell if I was dying of embarrassment or heartbreak. I can look back and laugh about it now though - since we did get together in the end, and we're still together now. But at the time it was incredibly painfull and nearly destroyed our friendship.
If he's going away (you say you dont know when you'll see him again after the 21st ) Couldn't you just tell him how much you will miss him, and see what kind of response you get ? If the response seems favourable maybe you could remind him of some of the times you've had together, maybe the letter you mention, and see what happens. But as you can see from my expeirience I'm no expert. Hope it all works out.

Sorry I can't be of use, since I'm a novice at relationships, lol ... but hope it all turns out well for you.

Honestly?
I think the problem is the age gap. He's almost three years younger than you, right? So he's probably less mature and a little more childish. I think thats the heart of the problem.
My opinion would be to wait a little bit for him to grow up a little more.

First: Thank you for posting this, because I feel a lot better about my post now. Second: I agree with sylvadragon and kissofdeath. I think just out right saying "I love you" isn't the best way to go, and the age gap may present a problem. But ultimately I think you should just hedge at the idea and see how he responds and if it seems like he is interested I think you should just go for it!

I decided to follow your advice. But what made it a little awkward was when his mom started talking to my mom about when we were in Seussical - where it all began. But I agree, I'm still keeping in contact with him though.
