I’ve just realized I get the strangest
ideas while I’m eating. This came to
me while I was at a café with my grand-
parents.
Without further ado, I give you…
There it was again, the thought that barged into her mind every time she had a chance. “What if…” A voice whispered in her mind happily. “he felt the same?” That’s what her thoughts normally led her to: “What if…” Sadly she could never bring herself to finish her dream. “And what if he didn’t?” she sighed. Another thing her scattered thoughts led her to.
Right now she was in a class of first year Hufflepuff and Ravenclaws. A generally behaved class. They where in the middle of a quiz so, she didn’t have to do much. As she walked around the classroom, she couldn’t help but let her mind wonder. Day dream about the ’ what if’ and the ’wouldn’t it be nice’. Something she had tried so very hard to keep at bay.
~
Minerva had just dismissed a peaceful class of first years. For children who had just taken a test the seemed so happy. Before leaving for lunch, Minerva quickly cast a summoning charm on the quizzes. She stacked them neatly on her desk for later on that day. She vanished the trash left by the students, and made her way to the door. She was half way when Albus poked his head in the room.
“Hello Minerva, I came to walk you to lunch.”, he opened the door a little wider to reveal his brilliant purple and gold robe.
“Thank you Albus that’s very nice of you.”, he stepped aside to let her out of the room. They walked in comfortable silence for a while when Albus broke it.
“Minerva?”
“Yes Albus?”
“I feel I must tell you something.” He stated firmly, as if readying himself for something big.
“What is it, Albus?” Minerva ask patiently. Albus took her hand and stopped. She looked at him confused and noticed he was blushing.
“I love you.” Three words, it took three beautifully simple words to make her want to pounce him then and there.
“Albus, I’ve waited thirty years for you to say that.” Minerva slowly closed the already small gap between them. One thing led to another and they some how ended up in Albus’ chambers, doing everything they ever wanted to do with each other in a room.
Severus, (bless him) was looking for the headmaster to discuss the latest Potter issue. He was about to knock on his bedroom door when he heard sounds. Moaning, bed sheets rustling, and a muffled name. “As disgusting as this is…”, thought Severus as he pressed his ear against the door, the better to hear the name.
“Minerva…”, Severus looked at the door in disbelief.
“No, surely not her… any witch in Hogwarts…”Severus muttered to himself.
“Albus- ” Severus started to feel ill. He backed away slowly from the door, then gave his head a violent shake in a disparate attempt to get rid off the image-
“Damn you old man…” He muttered on his way out of the Headmasters office.
~
Minerva chuckled to herself at this part, she could only imagine what Severus would really have done. She went to go sit back down at her desk so she could write a letter to Molly Weasley. She instead found herself thinking of another day dream that rushed over her mind.
~
Minerva was playing with her wedding ring thoughtfully, wondering what could be taking Poppy so long with results. She put her hand on her already swelling belly. Minerva was sitting on a bed in the hospital wing. Albus was right be her, eating a lemon drop. He looked a bit nervous.
“Albus, are you alright?”
“If you count the fact that I may have a very good chance of giving Severus a raise and joining him in one of his ghastly potion meetings-”
“Afraid of losing a bet are we?”
“I suppose- but if I win he has to award Harry 50 house points!”
“That’ll kill him,” Poppy walked back into the hospital wing smiling brightly.
“Minerva, Albus your having a girl!”, she squealed, hugging Minerva. Albus gave a relieved sigh.
“Thank Merlin…” he kissed Minerva playfully on the nose.
“A girl…”Minerva sighed happily.
~
Her blissful day dream was interrupted by a Hufflepuff who needed the loo. She stubbornly stopped dreaming long enough to give him permission to leave.
“Yes yes, Mr. Smith you may go.” she hurried him off.
~
“All right darling, try again.”
“Moum.” came the reply.
“No, no Albus!” Minerva laughed.
“Yes dear?”
“She isn’t getting it.”
“Emiko, say lemon drops for daddy.” The baby stared back and fixed her mouth to say-
“Sharba leon!” Emiko squealed. She tried to stand and walk, she took a few steps then fell back on her bum. Albus rushed over to pick her up and she wasn’t even crying.
“Oh well.” Minerva stood up and stretched much like a cat. “I’m sure she’ll get it soon. Right Emiko?” Minerva looked at her daughter smiling. She looked so much like Albus, auburn hair, and brilliant blue eyes.
“Minerva, where are the diapers?” Albus was making a face at Emiko, like he stepped in something foul. Minerva laughed. “In her crib up stairs.”, she followed him up. The last time she left him to this- well lets just say it was extremely messy…

“Class dismissed, and don’t forget to practice your spell!” she watched as the last Ravenclaw left the classroom before summoning the quizzes. She stacked them neatly on her desk for later on that day. Before going to lunch she vanished all the trash left by the students. She walked across the room to her door.
