I was just on iTunes, and browsing around, then I looked at the celebrity playlists and thought it would be fun to start a little thread on our top ten favorite songs of all time.
Here are mine, in order of my favorites:
1) Come What May- from Moulin Rouge, sung by Nicole Kidman and Ewan McGregor This song is so simple, but that's what makes it so beautifully true and sweet. It's definitely my favorite love song. 2) As Long As Your Mine- from Wicked, sung by Idina Menzel and Leo Norbert Butz I love Wicked so much, and this song is so sweet and passionate. Although I like Glinda's character better than Elphie's. (please don't stone me to death!) 3) Like a Prayer- Madonna I love Madonna, and this song it by far her best. 4) A Case of You- Joni Mitchell Joni Mitchell is such a beautiful lyricist, her songs are like poems. This is probably my favorite of her songs. 5) It's All Coming Back to Me Now- Celine Dion Yes, I am a Celine fan. I just love how all her songs are so romantic, sappy yes, but in a lovely way... 6) Taylor the Latte Boy- Kristin Chenoweth I love Kristin Chenoweth (she is the reason I got into Pushing Daisies) and this song is so hilarious and cute. I learned to play it on the guitar. 7) Beloved- Minnie Driver I never knew she sang (since someone else voiced her singing in Phantom of the Opera), but she has a really beautiful voice. This song is so calming and sweet, it's a good song to listen to when you need to unwind. 8) By the Sea- from Sweeny Todd, sung by Helena Bonham Carter Sweeney Todd is amazing, and this scene is so cute! I just love what Helena brought to Mrs. Lovett's character. 9) Candle on the Water- from Pete's Dragon, sung by Helen Reddy When I was little I would watch this movie all the time and whenever this scene came I would re-wind it again and again, because I loved the song so much. It's really sweet and so romantic. 10) Nicest Thing- Kate Nash This song is very depressing (since it's about an unrequited love) but it's so true and I can totally relate to it...

Oh, I love things like this!
1. The Winner Takes it All - Meryl Streep. I was holding my breath the first time I saw this; the bit where she finishes 'But you see..." and starts on 'the winner takes it all' near the end of the song is incredible. 2. Slipping Through My Fingers - Meryl Streep. I cried; simple as that. I was homesick at the time. 3. Neopolitan Dreams - Lisa Mitchell 4. Sleep - Azure Ray 5. Set the Fire to the Third Bar - Snow Patrol 6. Viva la Vida - Coldplay 7. Out Last Summer - Colin Firth etc. The best bit is the very end where Meryl Streep joins it. It's beautiful. 8. The Bleeding Heart Show - the New Pornographers 9. California Dreamin' - the Mamas and Papas 10. Fall at Your Feet - James Blunt
All of these are simply beautiful songs and one more that is fantastic is 'I'm Checking Out' sung by Meryl Streep in 'Postcards From the Edge'. It's fabulous.

I love how many times 'Leave Out All The Rest' by Linkin Park has come up I'm tempted to add it to my own list--but as that list is ever changing for me, I'll just do the ten which I remember as having the most impact on me. Phantomgirl, nice to see another Nightwish fan In no particular order: 1. Wide Awake - Lacuna Coil - (This song got me writing again, almost singlehandedly). 2. What I've Done - Linkin Park - (The summary of the last 2 years for me). 3. Sway - Lostprophets 4. Never Let Me Down - Depeche Mode 5. Telegraph Road - Dire Straits 5. Mein Herz Brennt - Rammstein - (Because it did). 7. Echelon - 30 Seconds To Mars 8. Castles In The Sky - Ian Van Dahl 9. Pale - Within Temptation - (A very painful song for me). 10. You Have Fallen From Grace - Unter Null - (Oh god. I've never heard anything so raw).
