Where did you get your penname from? or Why did you pick the name you use on the board?
Anyone curious?
I'll start things off.
I picked mercifulheavens because it is a phrase I often say when I become exasperated. It along with throwing my hands up in the air and sighing ranks as my number 1 reaction to anything I find hard to swallow or hard to believe...

Mine's pretty easy.
Minnie (because Minerva's my favourite character) and quill because pen just doesn't sound right.
Put them together and ... *drum roll* ... MinnieQuill!

My LJ username is diana_hawthorne, and I chose that because Diana Hawthorne was a character on "Law & Order", appearing only once, in the episode "Trophy". She was one of Jack's assistants. Anyway, Diana Hawthorne was played by Laila Robins, who has the same birthday as I do, so of course I decided to choose diana_hawthorne as my username. Also, at the time I created my LJ, Nathaniel Hawthorne was one of my favourite authors.

Because when I joined, Sparrabeth was my favourite ship, and I don't use this name on other forums becase it would seem... concieted? Like I was saying i was *the* Sparrabether. But this is an HP forum, so I felt like using it ;D Although, in hindsight, it would have made more sense to just use my ff.net pen-name.

I chose phantomgirl for different reasons.
1. I am a huge Phantom of the Opera fan and Phantom is one of my favorite characters. When I went to New York I went to see Phantom on Broadway.......During the play might have been the one and only time I was actually silent. It was like heaven.
2. I love scary movies, so I think phantoms can also represent my liking for scary movies.

Well - I really wasn't going to sign up under the name "tabbyhearts" - I was going to use my 'original' Harry Potter username, "mistoshanks" (Hint: Has anyone ever seen that username on this board [think summer 2006]?) But it was already taken (see longer story below), so wanted something a little more ADMM-related. And since I've always liked cats, and Minerva's animagus form is a tabby cat, I chose "tabby" for the first part. Since this was an ADMM forum, the "hearts" had no question about it. And that made "tabbyhearts" - although, I changed it to match my ff.net username, "Anurima Katheryn Rose" recently, for no specific reason...
The story behind "mistoshanks" and "Katheryn Rose" ...
So - it's the same person. In 2006, I was an avid ADMM shipper, and made an account here. Then for two years, I shipped pairings from Once on this Island and Warriors (lose my interest in in HP at this time). One day, I was cleaning my room and found a ADMM story, so, after reading it, I decided to go back to HP ships since I wasn't really shipping anything at the time. I just never activated my old account (mistoshanks), so I was allowed to create another account using that same e-mail. So I did ... then about two months later, I discovered the "mistoshanks" account on here, and soon after, I deleted it.

Mine came from Neopets I'm afraid. (Gosh it's been AGES since I was on there!)
*story*
About 6-7 years ago a friend of mine called and she asked me if I had Neopets (it was just starting to become popular), when I said no she volunteered to make me an account over the phone and said I needed a username.
I had no idea what neopets was but I assumed that it was a game, and in this game you became a pet in the "World of Neo" or somehing like that. So I came up with a name that sounded like a Fantasy, cute, Sabertooth Tiger. (no idea why...)
And Voila! Sabercute!
Not bad for a 9yr old!

Simple. Harmony Dumbledore is a character in one of my stories. Actually her name is Correna Harmony Dumbledore but I shortened it because I lot of the men in the story call her Harmony.
Although on ff.net my name is Minerva's-kitten.
Seriously I fantasize about being Minerva's and Albus' child so that's why!

Mine was kind of an accident, once I had to write an essay at school (long, long, looong time ago) from the point of view of one of the charakters from your favourite Authors. (Edgar Allen Poe)
And I choose Eleonore but instead of writing Eleonore I wrote Junore ( I think it had something to do with the fact that it was 2 in the morning and I was really tired) so and I kind of liked the name.

Hm, mine was rather random. I seem to renember that it was winter and there was a lot of snow. I looked out my bedroom window and saw a cat making it´s way across the garden.

I hardly remember... I know that it was at lunch one day, soon enough after the release of a book or movie, and the discussion at the table that day was 'Harry Potter'. We were talking about our favorite characters in turn, like this: "I'm a Ron Girl", "I'm a Fred and George Boy", "I'm a Harry Girl", and it came around to me and I said, "I'm a McGonagall Girl." When I was making my account I decided that I wanted it to be possessive, it felt somehow nicer to belong to her as opposed to being "McGonagall Girl". Thus, McGonagallsGirl was created, with no apostrophe because at the time, and possibly to this day, I really don't know, ff.net wouldn't allow usernames with punctuation marks in them. Or maybe just that punctuation mark, I don't know. How thrilled was I when, in the sixth book, Harry was like, "Yeah, I'm Dumbledore's man through and through". I was like, "Hey, guess what?! I'm McGonagall's girl through and through! Hurray!" It was a total *geek* moment.  |
