Do you think JK Rowling reads fanfiction stories? I would if people wrote fanficiton on my books...but what do the rest of you think?

I think she did read some, but I doubt she's really reading anything. ;D I think we scared her away with our dreams of Albus and Minerva... By doing this, she decided this HAD to stop, so she said that Albus was gay... See how well that stopped us? ;D She sure showed us! -laughs- ~MinervaSong

That's a darn shame. MMAD lives on and she doesn't even know it! ;D

I'll bet your right, minervasong. I think JK Rowling probably has read soem fanfiction, although something is telling me that she said she didn't (in some kind of interview or something). Although I do have a feeling she did/does. But I'll bet she only reads the "canon" pairings (in her eyes) and does not see the need to accept the pairings us fan-fiction writers have draw up.

I saw an interview with her, and she said she loved how fanwriters made their own versions of the story. Although if she does read them probably off of the bigger fan sites like muggle.net or HPlexicon.

I did read an article about her googling Harry Potter for the first time since she had written the books about a year or so ago, and it said that she was flabbergasted at the results. ;D It appears that she does not read fan-fiction, otherwise the onslaught of a million Harry Potter sites coming up from a simple google search would be unsurprising to her.

Well, actually I read an interview were she said she did go on the websites and that she likes reading some fanfic, looking at some art, and reading some theories (this interview was before HP ended). I think it might have been an interview with Mugglenet. She also said once she ventured into the Mugglenet Chatroom and got told off for "pretending to be JK Rowling." But she also said she didn't really use the internet comparing it to Tom Riddle's diary. She said you never really know who you're talking to and you have to be careful.

I have read that interview as well. I do believe that she reads fanfic, but to an extent though.

I think she does. Besides I don't even know what she does when she thinks of HARRY POTTER. And surfs off the net?
