Beyond the shadows of our past
There is peace to share together.
For now, we sit in shallow hush,
Waiting for our time - still we rush
To begin; and yet, we are still young.
Blemished by the passing years,
Scars that will never heal
We wish our lives away.
These few short months will pass,
Leaning shadows in the grass,
We will see at last - and claim
The light beyond the past.
