I think she was head girl and i see her more a seeker than a chaser

Hm, I would rather see her as some kind of early Weasley - the troublemaker of her time. *g* Would be fun. ;D But it's more likely that she was headgirl. And a seeker - a cat needs good eyes. Hugs, Rikki

I think there's a good chance she was headgirl. I think she was probably a bit like Hermione in school, the way JKR is always comaring Hermione's reactions to Minerva now...then again she could have been the forerunner to the marauders and the Weasley twins. Who knows. As for Quidditch, no idea if she was a player or just a crazy fan. That's difficult to guess at.

I would tend to player - she just doesn't seem like a crazed fan to me. Anyway with that slender frame she would have made an excellent seeker. ;D

I think she was Head Girl, and maybe did play qudditch (Mayeb even captain). Not sure which posistion she would have played though. I think she knew how to haev fun but knew limits too. Like when it was time to stop having fun in order to get homework done and such.

well Chris Columbus and the script writers of ps/ss thought she must have played quidditch because her name is on the quidditch shield

I've seen that. It says M.G. McGonagall, but it's dated 1975. That's way too late for it to be her, but I'm confused about it. I suppose it's possible they got the dates wrong, but could it be the suggestion of another McGonagall? I wonder if Ms. Rowling had anything to do with that or even noticed it... Sigh, if only she would tell us more about dear Minerva we wouldn't have to have so many questions.

That would be bloody fantastic! I would love to get my hands on her notes about Minerva and Albus myself. She's got to know a lot more about them than she's given us in the books. Here's hoping for more in the next book!

Hm, I thought about Minnie's position in the quidditch team again. Even though I stated earlier that she might have been a seeker ... if she was on the same quidditch team as James Potter that's obviously not possible. But when the names on the shield are in order of the positions then she must have been a beater... Just a thought. Hugs, Rikki

Well, the thing is we can't go by that entirely because it's a movie prop. Also, according to canon she wouldn't have been in school with James Potter she would have been his teacher so they definitely weren't on the same team.

Ummm i reckon she was head girl and on the quiddtich team!!! Prob either a chaser or seeker....not sure with.
As for the sheild....i know what you mean, on several occasions i've been watching the movie and just had to play that scene and zoom in on it to see....I really don't understand it!! JKR has i believe already stated that she taught the maurderes so i wanna know which M.G McGonagall it is!!! And its soooooo gotta be a son/daughter!!! Awwww I just wanna know!!!! J
BTW, i once did an x-ray on a McGonagall....however she spelt her name a bit different...just thought i'd share that!!hehehe Bye for now
