Is anyone else a little bit worried that JK might announce spouses in the upcoming book? What if Minerva and Albus are married but not too each other...what a sad day that would be.

Ok Ginger Newts and I have discussed this at length, and here is what we think: If we are going to know spouses then we can narrow it down to Albus and Minerva. One she has said in an interview no one loves Snape, and nor does he love someone. So he's out. If she tells us it must relate to the story overall, to tell us now means it is important and I'm sorry but the rest of the faculty isn't important. Who flitwick is married to makes no difference, and we know Hagrid is not married. Of significant faculty that leaves our favorite duo. Going on the important thread again: to tell us means it plays apart of the series. As much as I want useless, to the books I mean, info on Albus and Minerva JKR only has two books left and she wouldn't waste valuable space on something trival. So is MM being married to some no name in Hogesmead important? I don't think s o. Of course he could be famous, but why hadn't we run into him before? I mean Harry is at the ministry a lot. Even if it isn't a no name why introduce a new character so late unless he/she (for albus) is the new defense against the dark arts teacher? To me it makes a much bigger splash if Albus and Minerva are married. If Harry is going to find out, or if he needs to it seems more text worthy if it is the Headmaster and Deputy Headmistress. As to Albus having a wife, besides Poppy (who we rarely see; she's a pretty flat character) no one else on the faculty seems plausible. Also, he is at the school so much I just cant' see him having a wife live elsewhere. Naturally all of us see the hints we think JKR has dropped pointing to AD/MM, so I'm biased and find it hard to picture them not together. She could shock us all, but I do not see how us, therefore Harry, being introduced to a new character known as, spouse, would be important unless it was Albus and Minerva married. I do realize there are other witches and wizards that might be important that Harry just doesn't know, but if he doesn't then they aren't important to him or the story. Just my thoughts!! So naturally as a biased reader I have it back to AD/MM!!! Christy

I really hope JKR reveals some more about AD/MM in the next book *keeps fingers crossed*
I too think that it isn't likely that Minerva turns out to have a husband besides Albus. *crossing my fingers a lot harder this time*
But I'm curious, did JKR somewhere anounce that she was going to give more details about the private lives of the teachers?

She said once in answer to a question that some professors have spouses, but that information has been kept a secret for reasons we will find out later. Combining that with other little things she said, like we might find out more about Albus' scar and how Moody got his magical eye, I'd say she does plan to tell us at least a bit more about the adults in the HP world. As Christy said, we've talked about this and anything we find out from now on has to be important to the overall mystery. She just doesn't have time for useless information just to sate curious fans. We've talked it out and if the fact that some professors are married matters then the only professors who are important enough that their love life would matter are Albus, Minerva, and Severus. She's already confirmed that there's no one for Severus so that leaves our couple and it seems to make the most sense for them to be together. Quite honestly, if they're not together then I don't see them married to anyone else. They both seem to spend most of their time at the school and very close together, who would want to be married to someone who was always so far away and so attached to another man/woman. And besides, they're just so perfect for each other. Who else could handle her spirit or his eccentricity but each other? I'm not biased at all, hehe... I'm so hoping that we're proven right in the next book!

I completely agree with you. I mean everyone else is just out of the question for Albus and Minerva, and I don't think there'll be a new character of such importance as to be married to either of them.
So, the question is just whether or not JKR will do us the favour and get them married. Would be quite nice the finish Book 6 or 7 with a wedding. ;D

Unless they're already married. Ack I'll be so mad if she doesn't tell us! Actually, no, I won't care too much, but if she mentions any teachers' love lives, it better be Albus and Minerva and they'd better be together.

Does anyone know whether JKR is aware of all those AD/MM shippers out here? I mean if that's the case she just couldn't let Albus and Minerva end up with anyone else instead of each other. Hugs, Rikki

I have often wondered if JKR knows about the huge number of us who are devoted shippers of Albus and Minerva...we know Maggie is

She seems pretty in tune with fandom, I'm sure she knows we're out here. I just wish she'd give us a sign we're right. I still say the bit about some professors being married has to apply to AD/MM.

Hm, perhaps we should tell her so that she can write the next book according to our wishes? ;D Anyway we could tell her that it is Mags' wish to be married to Albus. *g*

Honestly, does that woman ever give clear answer to the things *we* want to know? *sigh* I guess I'll just have to wait and see... Cammie!!

yes, she probably knows we are out here. She will torture us to the last page of the last book: Minerva my dear, what are you thinking? About when we put Harry on that doorstep. Yes... Now about that scar...

That would certainly be nice, but I think it's rather unlikely. The books do focus on the kids and that would probably divert the attention. Hugs, Rikki

OMG, no! That is a horrible thought! Either Minerva and Albus are married to each other (not likely) or they're not married at all!
