I don't know if this was discussed, but I have searched the relevant topics and couldn't find anything, so I decided this was a good enough place. Right after the staff and friends of Dumbledore were told of his demise. Minerva Mcgonagall knew that the place Dumbledore wanted to burried was Hogwarts. A strange thing to tell someone who was just a coworker. You would assume that Dumbledore's next of kin would have been the one to know or to at least announce where Dumbledore wanted his remains to rest. At there very end of the scene she made the comment that "Dumbledore would have been happy to know that there was a little more love in the world" Also a strange comment from someone that was just a friend, all be it a close friend. She was severly distraught after Dumbledore's death. Nearly fainting away, and Harry constantly said that she seemed to have to hold herself together. I thought this was something to consider. It would be odd, if they weren't some how together as more than friends and coworkers, for her to know about his funeral plans.

That's what I love about MMAD. It's one of those relationships that just keep you wondering. =]

I agree, of course we won't have to wonder in 5 days. =)

hehe. Interesting! It does make you wonder, yes. I love the way that you put it, it seems to make sense! It would make sense that Minerva would know where Albus was buried only because she was his deputy and best friend, in case something happened to him, but of course I believe that they're together- for a number of reasons, including this one! She just behaves more like a widow than a mourning best friend and deputy. <3

I think Minerva is letting comments slip in her extreme sorrow...she does sound more like a widow, doesn't she?

Yep. My initial reaction to her mourning as openly as she did was that she mourns more like a widow than like a friend, even a close friend. Immediately when I found out that Dumbledore died in HBP, my first question to a friend of mine who had read it before I did was "What was McGonagall's reaction?" because I still think that is very important... whether JK wants to admit it or not. lol

... Yep. It may be that she is attached to Dumbledore. In a 'Just-very-close-friends" way but I doubt that.

It makes sense. Also the fact that is is the one who decides about Dumbledore's funeral, it's usually a spouse who does that. I don't have HBP here right now but do we get to see other people's reactions to Dumbledore's death? When Harry wakes up they all know about it already. We don't see her immedaite reaction either but when she comes to the hospital her emotions become the centre of attention. That can be important as well. Oh, I can't wait!!!
