Hello all. I'm a thrilled to announce that I and the other Mods on the board have organized a Fic Writing Festival for the Fall season. ;D
Here's how it's going to work:
REPLY TO THIS THREAD with a link to a story of yours that you want critiqued (posted on the board, please, not ff.net). These can be old or new. FINAL DATE to post links is Saturday, October 24th. After that, I cannot guarantee responses to your piece.
REPLY with constructive criticism to the other stories posted in the thread to me in a Private Message. LAST DAY TO SUBMIT RESPONSES will be Saturday, October 31st. Halloween
(Note: you may start submitting responses to me as soon as the link is posted on this thread, but the *last* day to submit responses will be October 31st)
Give the authors something to build with, and assume that the "Good Job, this was great" goes without saying. Look for ways to help them improve.
Below is the format for responses:
Name of Author
Name of Fic
Response
On Sunday, November 1st, I WILL POST all responses to the fics personally, on this thread, so that the critic will remain anonymous.
From there, authors will have until November 15th, to rewrite their fics taking into consideration the critiques they were given. I ask the authors leave the first version available on the board, and simply post the second version so that it would be possible to look between the two and compare. Post a link to this second version on this thread by Sunday, November 15th.
That's it!!! We'll all have grown as people, as writers, and as a community!!!
