Hi to anyone who reads this.

OK so here's the problem, I've started writing a new story which involves Minerva and Albus and a baby that has been stolen from them. The story in itself begins when the child arrives at Hogwarts under a new name and not instantly recognizable to his parents and moves on from there. The child is Severus Snape.

The problem is the second I write this name I'm faced with the fact that basically everything could be thrown out of balance and so my question is this, how AU is too AU? would anyone be interested in this sort of story? In theory I can make it so that it could fit in with canon eventually but would it work or is it too implausible?

the question is really interesting. I do not think there is "too AU" certainly there may be a "too weird" but they are two different things. I believe that everything depends on how the author treats the players and make them interact between themselves and the plot! I would love to read your story ...

hmmm that's a good point. I don't think it's too weird just that it has the potential to go in any direction. Once I've got some more of it written I'll be sure to post it up here and then you can let me know what you think. thanks again for responding. M xxxxx

I would be very interested in this kind of story, and actually it wouldn't be to au and could explain a lot of things. Like why dumbledore and Severus always had an unusually close relationship. Why he asked Severus to kill him, and many other things. Can't wait to read it.

That sounds like an interesting story! And there's no such thing as too AU!

Thank you both for your replies, I'm glad that you both think that this story wouldn't be too AU. thankfully even with my concerns about it being too AU I still started writing it and it's now developing quite nicely if I do say so myself lol. hopefully when I do finally post it, it will live up to expectations. thanks again.
