Hey guys and girls!
Finally, I've gathered enough courage for start a fanfic story. LOL
The first time I saw "A room with a view" (mainly because of Maggie's presence ;D), I stood fascinated by her performance of Charlotte Barlett.
At first, I thought she was an insipidus spinster; but I changed my mind when I saw the scene in the prairie, with Eleanor (aka Judi Dench).
I remember they where talking about Charlotte's journey in her friend's home at Yorkshire, and Eleanor said to her that he was sure there she had a romance.
And then Charlotte smiled, as saying "yes".
So, that started a threw in my mind, as did the first time I saw Minerva and Albus together.
And now, I've transformed that ideas into a text.
Hope you like the first chapter.
PD: Excuse my English
1.-Charlotte
It was a sunny day, not usual in her natal England.
Charlotte Barlett woke up in her family’s manor, in Oxford, very early on the morning; as always since she has been a child.
But she wasn’t a child anymore.
That day, she turned 19.
She had been waiting for that day for months, but not because it was her birthday; she never waited for any present or congratulations from her family.
She was excited ‘cause it would be the first time she’d go out of the South West.
She was going to her best friend’s Harriet home, in Yorkshire, to pass two weeks with her.
-Did you sleep well, Miss Barlett?
-Well, not very well, Mary.- she said to her maid, Mary, while dressing.
-Everything will be alright, Miss Barlett. I know.- she said, with a smile.
Mary had been nursing Charlotte since she was a child, so she knew her perfectly, and loved her as her daughter.
Charlotte loved her too; she was her best confidant in every occasion, and always had treated her with the sweetness and love that her family had not given her.
Mary sweetly kissed her forehead, and then; Charlotte went downstairs, to the dining room.
There, her parents, Elsa and Robert; and her little sister, Victoria, where waiting for her.
-You’re late.- said her father, a tall black haired man, when she arrived.
-I’m so sorry, father.- she said- I was distracted, you know I’m so nervous and…
-That’s no excuse for arrive late.- he said, with his particular loud voice.- Now, sit down.
She sat down, and started having a marmalade sandwich; although she wasn’t hungry at all.
When they all finished, her mother called the maid and said:
-I think you’re chariot has arrived, my dear.
It was true.
Charlotte turned her head off and saw a black chariot.
-It’s time.
The butler, Henry, took her baggage to the chariot, while her family said goodbye to her.
-Have a nice time, dear.- said her mother, as cold as always.
-I’ll do, mother. Goobye, father; goodbye, Victoria.
She smiled; waiting for a response.
But it didn’t arrive.
“Com’on, Charlotte,” she thought, “they never kiss you or smile. Why should they do now?”
-Bye.
She was going to mount, when she stopped.
She stood watching her own reflection in the halls mirror.
She observed her thin figure, her blue dress perfectly fitted to it; her blonde shiny hair put back in a bun; her white face clear of imperfections, and her big blue eyes…
“I’m not pretty.”, she thought, “I’m not pretty at all.”
Yes, she was. She was very pretty.
But she didn’t realize it.
Mainly, ‘cause her mother had never liked her.
She had always said that Victoria, her little sister, was the prettiest, the one that would marry the richest man, the one that would have a better life.
And it was the same with her father.
She was everyone’s favorite, always so kind, always so clever, always so talented.
Only Mary realized on Charlotte’s beauty, but, of course, she did not believe her.
Her morale was low enough to believe she had any quality.
She slowly mounted in the chariot, and started her journey to her friend’s house, hoping to have a nice time there…
