Once upon a time : Illustrated Story

Well, I had few ideas for a while, and I finally found a way to use all of them.

Idea n°1 : An illustrated story. I'm a Sims addict for many years now, and I thought, I think, that having pictures on a fanfic could be interesting.

Idea n°2 : I think I've already put this idea on the board, but I wanted to do something with Royalty, in Anastasia' way.

Idea n°3 : Idea from last night, it was my Titanic night of the year ( I can't help but watch this movie once, ok maybe two, a year...), and my first thought was "Oh my god, I love this era, I should write something on it ! And I like few characters of this movie ! I should write something that happened in that boat, but not about Jack and Rose (Truth be told : I almost don't care about them...)

I, maybe, got an idea on " HOW the hell I'm gonna put this two ideas together", but I have few problems with this fanfiction.

First, if I'm doing it, it's for the board, and english isn't my native language, in case you didn't notice. I don't know how much time it would take me to write, and I don't know how many mistakes there will be in it.

Then, the biggest problem, is, the timeline. Should I set my own ? Or respect few elements ? I know I'll have to modify some things to make elements work together, but I don't know, if I respect some elements in the real HP Timeline, and if yes, How I'm gonna do it ?!

And finally, wish me luck with my computer and with my game, hope there won't be any problems...

That sounds like a lovely idea!

It is a beautiful time period, perfect for illustrations. Although, I can see why writing a Potter fic in it would be difficult.

There are a few options I can see here for your story:

1) You could set the fic in the 1911-1914 time period and involve Albus Dumbledore in the story. He was already 60+ years old. There were also a few ancestors to Sirius Black rattling around, as well as Merope Gaunt (though I can't imagine how she might have gotten onto the Titanic).

2) You could send whichever characters you want back in time. Presumably you would chose Albus and Minerva, but it could be anyone you want. Perhaps they use a time turner?

3) You could change the timeline of the world of Harry Potter to allow you to use any characters you want. (I think this is the most difficult option, it's very hard to convince an audience to forget that they are in the wrong time period).


Also, the idea of Royalty is really interesting! Hermione says in the 6th book that Wizards don't have Princes, or royalty; but she doesn't say that they *never* had them. Perhaps there once were Royal witches and wizards? After all, the Wizarding world certainly has aristocrats (pure-bloods).

Maybe I should try to write a one-shot with illustrations, before get into this project...
Ah ! I'm not crazy, it's actually difficult !

1) Since I really want Minerva to be the principal character, I don't think I'm gonna use this idea, though it could be interesting and way much easier for me with the timeline...

2) It could be an option, I'll have to think about the reason they're sent back in time...

3) That was my first idea, but as you say, hard to convince an audience... Just making Minerva "a little" older, would be the less difficult way to do what I want, but will the audience be convinced ? (Though I've seen a lot of fics where the time-line wasn't respected)

Well, the idea of royalty came to my mind after I watched (for the, I don't know, something like the 150th time) Anastasia, then I watched HP and the half blood prince, a little idea came up, I checked the time-line on Harry Potter Lexicon, and found out that the Minister was created only in 1700. Might have been something before... Well yes, that's exactly what I thought, aristocrats. And I don't know for you, but I can totally imagine Minerva as an aristocratic lady, who wouldn't be like other women, she would not want to stay home, have children with one man she would have marry for money or fine title... Well, you know what I mean... (Doesn't remember you of anyone ? See the link between the two ideas... ? =] )

Maybe I should do a poll, and ask directly the audience... What would you do ?

Well, thank you for the help I really appreciate it ! You're very kind ! You're sure it's not bothering you ? I mean, if in French I hardly make any mistakes, in English, as you can see, I'm pretty bad...
The very only thing you don't have to worry about is the Sims... I've been playing for 8 years (10 if we include Sims 1), it may be the easiest thing for me =)
