A/N: Ok I wrote this a while ago, and finally decided to post it! I hope you like! ;D
Harry, Hermione, and Ron were walking back to their common room after a long hard day of classes. They were just passing Professor McGonagall’s office when a sharp voice stopped them in their tracks.
“Stop it,” it said. The three wizards would have recognized that voice anywhere. They turned toward her door excepting their professor to be standing there, glaring at them for some reason unknown. However this was not the case. The door to her office was closed, well almost.
The door was actually opened a tiny crack, which was just enough for three curious children to be able to peak in. The trio looked at each other for a moment. Then after a silent agreement they quietly walked up to the door, and began to watch the scene inside.
“I said stop it, Albus,” Minerva said. The stern transfiguration professor was bent over her desk grading papers. She didn’t look up at the offender in any way. The offender was sitting across from her with his twinkling blue eyes fixed intently on her.
“Stop what, my dear? I don’t believe I have been doing anything , but sitting,” he said innocently.
“You have been staring at me for ten minutes,” was her only reply. She still had her eyes on the papers she was grading, and did not even give Albus a glance.
“How do you know that? You haven’t looked up from your papers once.” He had said this very accusingly, but the smile on his face betrayed him. Minerva dipped her quill in some ink before answering him.
“After forty years of teaching one does learn a few tricks.” Albus chuckled softly, but continued to stare. Neither one of them said anything for a couple minutes. The only sound in the room was the scribbling of Minerva’s quill. Finally Albus broke the silence.
“You work too hard, Minerva.”
“Well one of us has to,” she replied still writing. “Especially when the other refuses to work, and instead spends all of his day staring at his Deputy Headmistress.” Albus smiled at her response.
“I’m quite sorry, my dear,” he said, eyes twinkling even more. “I thought that you liked having me stare at you all day.” Minerva finally looked at him. She looked right into his eyes, and smiled softly.
“Maybe I do.” They stared at each other for a couple more seconds before Minerva went back to her grading, and Albus to his staring. The trio watching took this moment to make their escape. They walked quickly away, and when they finally found a safe spot to stop none of them said anything for a couple moments. The silence was broken though by two words from Ron Weasley.
“Bloody hell!” All three grinned at each other, and broke out laughing. They continued to laugh all the way back to the common room.
