Hey all, its been a long time coming but I finally have a new story up!! I do apologise for my disappearence from the planet but due to the pressures of my dissertation and finals for my degree i've had to put my writing and membership on hold, those of you who know me will understand.
As for the story, it was a challenge set me Lies during a conversation the other night, and had to be written in 539 words exactly and include the subjects alphabet soup and a piano.

Winter had just descended on Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and the fine covering of snow this early on suggested it was going to be a very cold hard winter indeed; Minerva McGonagall was marking essays in her study when a message arrived on her desk. Minerva regarded her name carved across the cream parchment in a vivid purple ink, she had always loved his hand and wandered what idea had popped into his head this time, cringing she remember the last time he’d had a good idea – she couldn’t sit down for a week!!
Minerva
I was wondering if you would care to accompany me to dinner this evening, there is something I wish to discuss with you.
Always and Forever Yours

Smiling to herself she was glad it wasn’t like the last one and quickly sent a reply back with her own owl Mercury.
Albus
I should be delighted to accompany you this evening, is 7 O’clock too early?
All my love

As Minerva entered Albus’ study later that evening she couldn’t see him, only hear the soft tones of a piano coming from somewhere further within the room, as she moved a little further into the living room she noticed a table set for two in the middle. Moving on further still she noticed a piano that seemed to appear out of thin air with Albus sat behind it playing the most beautiful music she’d ever heard.
“I didn’t know you could play” she said softly
Unaware of her standing there Albus jumped a little and abruptly stopped playing.
“Is that the time already, my I didn’t realise” he replied shutting the lid
“Oh no don’t stop – it sounds so beautiful, what is it?”
“It’s Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata – one of my favourite pieces of his work” he replied staring at her with wonder.
“Well I for one would love to hear the rest of it, will you finish playing it for me?” She said looking at him with those eyes that he found so hard to refuse anything.
“How about you sit down and take your outer robe off and I’ll bewitch the piano to play while we eat?” He offered
“Ok then, but only if you play for me after dinner!”
“I will I promise” he replied knowing full well she’d forget all about the piano after the first course.
“Actually my dear I have a new muggle dish I would like you to try.” She raised one eyebrow at that comment, his choice in muggle dishes usually ended in some sort of disaster. Seeing that face he reassured her.
“Don’t worry Min, its not like curry incident, this one is much more simple, and less spicy.”
“Yes thankyou, that curry nearly blew my head off, you know I’m not one for spicy food!” She retorted
“Ok my dear, point taken! I think you’ll like this one – Alphabet Soup!” He announced proudly.
“Och Albus, muggle children eat that, not adults”
“Are you not even going to try it?” Albus asked looking a little hurt
“Of course I will”
As Minerva looked down at her bowl to take a spoonful she noticed it spelt out a question…
WILL YOU MARRY ME?
