I love it...I love it...I love it. This story is mega sweet. Albus is so thoughtful, getting Min a bowl of cream while he had his hot chocolate. I bet he tell her that he loves Minerva.

Chapter 5
Minerva lifted her head up and rested it on his hand, she looked up at his sad blue eyes. She wanted to tell him that he could tell her anything but it came out as a simple meow.
"I know you can't understand me Tabby," he said "but I would like to tell you anyway."
Minerva sat curled up on his lap thinking, was this right to be sat here hearing his thoughts and secrets when she could understand him. It was dishonest of her to be here with him but she couldn't help it, she wanted to be here.
She knocked her head against his hand to urge him on.
"I do believe Tabby," he answered looking down at her "that I am in love."
Minerva felt her heart sink as he spoke those words, she hoped her eyes wouldn't give her away. She felt him tickle the spot behind her ear that usually made her purr, but this time no purring could be heard.
"I can not reveal my feelings to her Tabby, it would be highly improper of me to do so." he continued "she would reject me, she couldn't love an old man like me."
I would love you! thought Minerva sadly, I would never reject you. Who ever this woman was who had caught his heart would be a fool to reject him.
Minerva couldn't help but wonder about who the woman was, she had never seen any of the female professor's with him. It was a well known fact that some of them found him attractive but he had always kept them at arms length. Perhaps a woman from Hogsmeade had stolen his heart.
"She is an exceptional beauty," explained Albus looking directly into Minerva's eyes strangely "She has the most beautiful eyes in fact, they are just as beautiful as yours tabby."
Minerva gave a small meow in reply, she wasn't sure she wanted to hear anymore about this blasted woman. He seemed to notice that she was growing uncomfortable.
"You must be wanting to return to your owner," he said "I've kept you here for a while."
He picked her up from his lap and carried her towards the door. Minerva was glad that she was going and that she would soon be back in Gryffindor tower then she could curl up on her bed and cry.
"Thank you for your company Tabby." he said as he dropped a soft kiss on the top of her head "come and see me again."
He bent down and placed her on the floor as soon as her paws touched the stone floor, she darted along the corridor without looking back.
She reached Gryffindor tower and transformed back to herself in front of the portrait of the fat lady.
"Oh my dearie," said the fat lady "aren't you a clever one."
"Apple cherry blossom." said Minerva, ignoring the fat lady.
The portrait swung open and she stepped inside the quiet commom room, she raced up to her bedroom and threw her self on to her bed. Tears flowed fast, and she cried till sleep finally took over her.

just got home from spending two days in Toronto, training the new girl on our system... with no internet access save at the office... and here and LJ are the first two places i headed (well, after i emailed to Jaya to let her know i was home)... and this is the first story i came to, as Jaya was evil in an email this morning telling me this had been updated.
wonderful update!! i can't wait till Albus discovers that Min and Tabby are one in the same!!

Chapter 6
Minerva felt herself being shaken awake by someone, she opened her eyes and saw Poppy standing over her.
"Come on Min!" said Poppy loudly "You're going to be late, luckily you fell asleep with your school robes on."
"Late?" mumbled Minerva.
"Yes sleepy head." replied Poppy with a smile "get up or you'll be late for transfiguration and you don't want that."
Minerva pulled herself out of bed and sorted her messy hair out.
"Have I missed breakfast?" Minerva asked, slightly flustered.
"You did," answered Poppy "but I smuggled out some pancakes for you and Alastor got you some orange juice."
Minerva looked at the half empty glass of orange juice with a hint of amusement.
"I think he spilt some on the way up." said Poppy with a grin.
Minerva quickly drank what was left of the orange juice and took one of the pancakes, which she ate on the way to transfiguration. They arrived seconds before Albus Dumbledore swept into the classroom. Minerva kept her head down throughout the two hour lesson, she didn't want to look at him because she would just remember how hurtful the words he spoke last night were. The lesson finally came to a end and as she reached the door, she heard him call her name.
"Miss McGonagall."
She turned around and looked at him.
"Have you forgotten?" he asked.
Minerva looked at him blankly.
"You have a free hour now," he reminded her "we usually use this time to practice."
Minerva had completely forgotten about this weekly lesson and she wasn't sure about spending the next hour with him.
"You can crack this Minerva!" he told her as he sat on the edge of his desk.
Minerva stood uncomfortably, her eyes rooted to a spot on the floor. Albus slipped off the desk he was sat on and walked over to her, she felt him cup her face in his hands and bring them up so she was looking at him. His blue eyes were twinkling madly behind his half moon spectacles and Minerva couldn't help but lose herself in them.
"What is the matter?" he asked.
"Nothing Professor." she replied
"I'm not convinced but I will let it go for today," Albus said with a concerned smile. "Do you want to give it a try?"
"I suppose I could have ago." Minerva answered grimly.
She walked back into the main part of the classroom and placed her bag down on the nearest table. She stepped into the middle of the classroom and closed her eyes. She didn't empty her mind, in fact she filled it with more thoughts about what he had told her, the night before. She felt hot tears whelming up behind her tightly shut eyes.
"I can't" she cried out as her eyes flew open.
She grabbed her bag and ran out of the classroom, leaving a confused and worried Albus looking after her.

Chapter Seven
Albus Dumbledore waited a few moments before going after Minerva, there was something wrong and she had been avoiding him. He needed to know what was wrong with her, he cared deeply for the young Gryffindor witch maybe a bit too much. He swept along the corridor in pursuit of Minerva and there seemed to be no sign of her, the corridors seemed to be deserted.
He walked towards the Gryffindor tower, he expected that she would have gone there and hid herself away in her bedroom. As he turned the corner that led to Gryffindor tower, he came across Alastor Moody and Poppy Pomfrey. He eyed them with a big smile as he passed them, he had caught them in the middle of a kiss.
"Well" said Albus cheering his throat.
Alastor and Poppy quickly jumped away from each other, Poppy flashed a bright shade of red and looked down at her feet.
"Sorry to disturb you!" said Albus, still grinning "Did you by chance see Miss McGonagall come this way?"
"No sir!" answered Alastor.
"Erm she might have done," answered Poppy "but we were erm....busy."
"Yes, I did notice!" replied Albus, "if you see her, can you tell her that I was looking for her."
"Yes Professor!" chorused Alastor and Poppy.
Albus walked away from the two students and made his way through the portrait that led into the Gryffindor common room. It was empty apart from Nearly Headless Nick who was floating by the fireplace.
"Sir Nicholas!" greeted Albus.
"Well Professor Dumbledore, how are you?" replied Nick.
"Very well," answered Albus "Have you seen Miss McGonagall?"
"I regret to inform you that I have not seen our lovely head girl since this morning." replied Nick
"Have you tried the library?"
"It shall be my next stop!" said Albus as he headed back out of the common room.
Albus searched high and low for Minerva but he couldn't find her, he gave up and resolved that he would have a word with her that evening after dinner.

Since she can turn into her tabby form now, she could be hiding anywhere in the castle. He'll never find her. I hope she shows up at dinner so they can talk. They need to communicate!!!!!! Soon!!!!!
