A/N:: I apologize for this little pointless piece, but my muse hasn't left me alone lately. I was inspired for this today when I went to get the mail and the humidity outside was sooo bad.

It was a hot, humid day, the kind of day that made the skin crawl and the hair stand up on the back of the neck. Despite numerous Cooling Charms and plenty glasses of water, Minerva McGonagall was drenched in sweat. Rolls of parchment were piled upon the desk. Tests and homework were left to be graded, and three very important letters to be sent to the Ministry were due that afternoon. Even these routine tasks posed a challenge today. Heat has a way with fogging the brain, after all.
Minerva read the first line of a student's essay three times before she realized she was making no progress. She rubbed her tired eyes and tried to refocus on the paper, but it was simply no use. Perhaps a nice quick shower would refresh her mind and body.
As Minerva exited the room, she was nearly run over by a deeply in thought Albus Dumbledore. Her heart fluttered at the sight of him.
"Pardon me," Albus said apologetically. "I should pay more attention to where I am going."
Minerva smiled. She adored his interesting combination of childish charm and immense intellect.
"It's okay," she said.
Albus's eyes twinkled as he passed her. She sighed. Let's make it a cold shower, shall we? she thought to herself.
After her shower, Minerva felt invigorated and ready to finish her work. When she arrived at her office, however, the rolls of parchment were neatly placed in sections on her desk, and Albus was grinning merrily at her.
"What have you done?" she asked in a surprised voice.
Albus chuckled.
"I took the initiative to finish the rest of your work," he said simply.
Minerva could not believe this. Normally she would have been infuriated with anyone meddling with her work, but she could not bring herself to be angry with him.
"Why?" she asked curiously.
"I saw that you were a little behind, and it is hard to accomplish anything in this heat," he said. "Also, I thought that since your work has been completed for you, maybe you and I can take the rest of the day off and play a game of chess."
"That sounds lovely," Minerva said, and without a second thought, leaned over to Albus and gave him a quick, soft kiss on the lips.
"Wonderful," he said with a grin.
Possibly without knowing it himself, Albus had finally given Minerva just what she needed most- a release from her toils, yes, but most importantly, love.
