Chapter 15
* Extra points for those of you who can identify the source of my quotes!*
"Fair is fowl and fowl is fair." The general in the portrait muttered angrily as the painting moved back to reveal Fred and George's "Lair of Mischief" as they called it.
Our trio of Gryffindors entered albeit with some apprehension. A moment later a bird call was heard which sounded suspiciously like "Double, double toil and trouble." Fawkes entered the room. The three students were too busy looking for Fred and George to notice. A loud whistle from the phoenix got their attention.
"Oh no. Dumbledore knows we're here," Hermione said, her tone ringing with defeat. Fawkes shook his head 'no.'
Fawkes pulled a piece of parchment from his leg and let one drop of ink fall on the page. He placed a claw on the paper and a plan was illustrated. the students were speechless. Fawkes wanted Headmaster Dumbledore and Deputy Headmistress McGonagall to fall in love.
"Gross!" Harry grumbled.
"It's disgusting," Ron said.
Fawkes moved his claw and the pictures contorted until they became a distant, pensive looking Dumbledore and a crying Professor McGonagall.
"Don't listen to them, Fawkes. I think it's lovely," Hermione assured the bird. "Those two would be happy to help us."
The boys stared at her blankly.
"You mean to tell me that we're relying on the word... er... chrip... of this bird? No way am I going to risk expulsion because I listened to poultry! No way. Sorry." Ron's protests were cut off by Fawkes hitting him in the back of the head with his wing.
"Maybe it's safer to trust Fawkes. I mean, with your luck, you end up undressing McGonagall," Harry pointed out with a smirk. Ron pouted as Harry, Hermione and Fawkes had a laugh at his expense.

Chapter 16
Minerva awoke to Fawkes' singing. She found herself in Albus' arms, held close to his heart. He was sleeping soundly and he looked so happy. "You even smile in your sleep," she whispered as she sat up, "Dreaming of Sherbet Lemons, are you?"
"No, my dear, I was dreaming of you."
She jumped up and turned around to find Albus smiling at her. There was a look in his eyes which she had never seen before. "Albus, I'm sorry. I shouldn't have stayed here last night. You were very kind to me and I have no idea how to repay that kindness. I'll leave now to get dressed I'll come back for that meeting I had mentioned." She walked to the door, stopped, walked back to Albus, lend forward and kissed his crooked nose. "Thank you," she whispered over his lips. After that she left to dress for her meeting, a seductive smile playing across her lips.
"I do believe I've just been flirted with, Fawkes," Albus said with a smile.
Minerva was surprised by her actions as she walked to her rooms. She'd been flirtatious - actually flirtatious with Albus. There was the kiss, and her whispered words, no to mention the extra sway in her hips as she'd left the bedroom. For some reason, waking up in Albus' warm, loving embrace made her more affectionate. She would tell him how she felt. She would kiss him for all she was worth. She would be alluring, and sexy and... Her confidence melted at the sight of what was before her. Hanging there in the middle of the hall were the black lace bra and underwear Albus had given her. A piece of parchment circled around them. It read 'We see London. We see France. We see McGonagall's sexy pants.'
Her resolve shattered. How could she face him now? She ran to her rooms waving her wand to reverse the devastation caused by Peeve's the night before. He was no longer there. From the sound of it he was busy chasing Filch's cat, Mrs. Norris, around the grounds. Minerva fell onto her bed shaking with sobs. She wished for Albus' comforting warmth laying beside her. She had no idea how long she'd laid there, but it was a strong hand on her back and a soothing, familiar voice which brought her back into the present.

For some reason my favorite line was "you even smile in your sleep"
it made me smile.
and I agree that these terrible cliffies are slowly working me towards a heart attack....lol

Chapter 17
"Ouch! Ron, you're stepping on my foot!" Hermione hissed as Fawkes sneaked Harry, Ron and Hermione, with the aid of an Invisibility Cloak, into Professor McGonagall's private quarters.
"Don't blame me for your big feet," Ron retorted.
"Quiet, both of you! I hear something," Harry whispered as he approached the bedroom door. Peering through the keyhole, the three saw their Transfiguration professor laying on her bed in tears. "McGonagall's crying." Harry said.
They were startled by the door to Minerva's study opening and their Headmaster entering. A knot began to form in Harry's stomach as he remembered a rumor he'd heard about Dumbledore being able to see through an Invisibility Cloak. Fawkes came to the rescue, flapping and squawking he diverted Albus' attention from the area where the students were hiding. They watched as Albus made his way to Minerva's bedside and began to gently rub her back. He leaned close to her and softly said her name.
"Minerva. Minerva, my dear, why are you crying. Is there anything I can do to make you feel better?" he asked as he continued to rub her back.
Minerva didn't say a word. She wrapped her arms around his chest and buried her face in his robes. Carefully, he lay down beside her and held her just as he had the night before. He kissed her forehead and she looked up at him in a state of near bewilderment. He was about to kiss her lips but just before their lips met, Albus heard someone out side the door. Grabbing his wand, Albus sent a spell at the door. It flew open and those beyond it were knocked to the floor.
Albus was towering over them in a instant. "Why are you here?" he bellowed. Harry, Ron, and Hermione all pointed to Fawkes who did his best to avoid eye contact. "Fawkes, we'll talk about this later. You student stay in Professor McGonagall's study, there are some things we need to discuss, but first I have to check on your professor."
Albus returned to Minerva's side and a few moments later both professors were ready to comfort the frightened students.

Ahhhhhhhhhh.............more. I need more. I don't think that Albus would be that upset with the three students, but I can't wait to see what happens next. Why was Minerva so confused when Albus wen to kiss her? Owell, seems like I'll have to wait.

Hey there!  I read this a little bit ago and thought I had reviewed but I don't see it so I must be mistaken.  I hope you update soon. I really like this story and I wonder what will happen next.
