Disclaimer: Alas…I don’t own anything that JKRowling has already thought of.
The Wedding
The sun shined brightly over the valley. The wind was very gentle, and the sky was a cloudless blue. The valley was in full bloom with wild flowers as beautiful as the day itself.
In the green, grassy valley there was a wedding ceremony about to take place. There were hundreds of white chairs set up into neat rows. An aisle separated the two sections of seating. The white chairs were not empty though. They were filled with the family and friends of Minerva McGonagall and Albus Dumbledore. Everyone was dressed in elaborate, colorful robes and gowns, and they were all whispering quietly to each other while listening to the soft, gentle music that played from the enchanted piano.
In the front of the crowd was the minister. He was a short, stout man with wiry gray hair. He was dressed in white and red robes carrying the symbol of a gold wand on them. Next to the minister stood Albus. He was dressed in fine green and gold robes. His light blue eyes were twinkling more than ever.
The music playing from the piano changed to a traditional wedding tune. A little girl, who was Minerva’s great niece, was spreading flower petals in the aisle between the chairs. She was dressed in a gold, ankle length dress, and her ebony colored hair was in a French braid. Once she was done spreading the white flower petals, she stood on the minister’s right side.
Next came three women accompanied by three men. The women were Minerva’s closest friends, Poppy Pomfrey, Pomona Sprout, and Rolanda Hooch. They were dressed in long, silk-like dresses. The men were Albus’ friends, Hagrid, Alastor Moody, and Albus’ brother, Aberforth. The men, like Albus, were dressed in green and gold robes.
Finally there was Minerva. She was dressed in a pure white, strapless wedding gown. The veil was covering her blushing face, and her thick black hair fell onto her shoulders. She slowly walked down the aisle, taking in every moment. Sometimes she would look down at the flowers she held in her hands, then up at Albus, the only man she ever loved. This was all like a dream.
When she reached the front, all eyes were on her. Rolanda took the flowers from Minerva’s hands so that Albus may hold her hands in her own. In his opinion, he found her absolutely beautiful.
The minister began to speak.
“We are gathered here today to witness the marriage of Minerva McGonagall and Albus Dumbledore. Marriage is and everlasting commitment of love and devotion to one another. Through pain and suffering you must be there for each other. Through sickness and health as well. Death will not stop your love for each other…you may say your vows now.”
Albus squeezed Minerva’s hands.
“Minerva, I love you with all of my heart and soul. There isn’t anything I wouldn’t do for you, and I always want you to be happy,” Albus said.
Minerva could feel the tears roll slowly down her cheeks.
“Albus, I love you more than anything else in this world. I will always support you and care for you. I will never leave your side, and will always be there when you need me most,” she said.
“Do you, Albus, take Minerva as your wife?” The minister asked when they finished saying their vows.
“I do,” Albus answered.
“Do you, Minerva, take Albus as your husband?”
“I do,” Minerva said.
“I now pronounce you husband and wife…you may kiss the bride.”
Albus removed the veil form Minerva’s face and smiled at her sparkling emerald eyes. She smiled back at him, placing a hand on his cheek. He then placed a gentle kiss on her lips.
When they broke, the audience began to clap and cheer. As the newly weds walked hand in hand, the guests sent out green and gold sparks from their wands, a symbol of good fortune and health.
A carriage was waiting to take the couple to their reception. Once they were inside the carriage, Albus pulled Minerva into a long, passionate kiss before holding her tight in his arms the rest of the ride.
