Minerva McGonagall was sitting in her room worrying. Not just worrying, there was a slight panic in her thoughts. Albus had been gone for quite a while. He said that he would to come back in a week, but a week was three days ago, and every night she stayed up, waiting for him to come through those doors and say that everything was all right. But he didn't. Just then, the memory of their first kiss came to her mind.
Can't nobody love you like I do
Not now
No not ever
Man there ain't no doubt I know this thing
We have
Could last forever
Others may promise the stars in the sky
But sooner or later you'll find
Can't nobody love you like I do
They were in his rooms, laughing and smiling. He had invited her there for a special reason, and that is all he told her.
"Albus, come on, what's the real reason you invited me here?" she asked with pleading eyes.
"You will find out sooner or later my dear," he replied with amusement in his voice from the anxiousness in hers.
She didn't need to be told twice, he was enjoying her curiosity about tonight.
Just when she was going to ask again, a slow, soft music had started to play.
"Albus, what's with the music?" she asked
"Come here my dear," he asked as he got to his feet and held his hand out to her.
With a look of question on her face, she eventually took his hand and stood up.
He then wrapped his hands around her small frame and started gently moving with the music. She was a little stiff for a minute or two, but she soon realized her arms were snaking up to encircle his neck and found her feet rocking her back and forth to the slow moving beat.
Can't nobody hold you quite this close
All night
Like I want to
Baby put your sweet lips here on mine
You'll see
'Cause I'm gunna show you
Just how an angel like you should be loved
Man I can't feel you enough
Can't nobody love you like I do
Can't nobody love you like I do
Albus held her closer to him. Their bodies fitting together in perfect harmony.
Just then, Albus pushed away a little, not too much to separate them, and looked into her deep green eyes.
'Kiss her,' he thought. And just when he was going to lean in, Minerva's mouth was on his in a second.
It was a soft kiss at first, but then got more passionate, they only breaking away to breath. They looked into eachothers eyes and then Minerva put her head on his shoulder and kept moving to the music with a happy smile on her face. Albus was still in a bit of shock but held her even tighter. A grin plastered on his face
Well who knows when it's meant to be
Love knows
And it sent you to me
When the music stopped, they stood there still holding eachother. They broke apart after a while, staring into eachothers eyes.
"I love you Albus," Minerva said, loving the way they just rolled off her tounge like she had said them every day of her life.
"I love you too Minerva, more than you'll every know," he said with tears glistening in those bright blue eyes.
They both sat down in his overstuffed sofa and just held eachother, crying happy tears, thankfull that they finally had the courage to tell one another the truth that they had been hiding for years and years.
You don't know how I live for the day
When you look at me and you say
Can't nobody love you like I do
Minerva was pulled from her memories by a knock at her door. She forced herself to get up and open it. When she did, she forgot to breath. There was the love of her life, standing in front of her. She ran into his arms, crying soft sobs, happy that he was alive.
"Oh, I've missed you Albus! And don't you EVER do that to me again!!" she yelled into his shoulder as he carried her into her rooms.
"Minerva, I am back and here to stay," he said while he sat down on her sofa, holding her like a baby, gently rocking her back and forth while she cried happy tears.
She gently kissed him on the lips and snuggled into his embrace as if scared that he would be gone forever if she didn't.
They sat like that for a while in comfortable silence, sharing quiet kisses and touches in between. Finally, Albus broke the silence.
"Minerva, will you marry me?" he asked with almost a desperate whisper.
Minerva looked as though Voldemort was killed and left forever. She looked up and smiled the biggest smile anyone has ever seen and squealed with joy.
"Yes! Yes! I will marry you!!" she answered while almost smothering him with hugs and kisses.
"Well I am totally glad to hear that you will!!" Albus said and smothered her with a passionate kiss that lasted an eternity.
