Albus walked into his office to find his loving deputy, whom knowing to a few close friends, his loving wife.
“Where have you been?” Minerva McGonagall demanded
“Out” He replied
“Out where?…drinking at Aberforths?”
“No, nothing like that. I was…I…”
Albus couldn’t bear to tell her where. He loved her so much, and they never kept a secret from each other, but Albus kept this secret. He didn’t want her involved, trying to stop him from helping Harry. He was angry at himself for allowing his actions to make her think she was no good for him and that it seemed he was cheating on her. Sneaking around during the day, leaving at dinner, not coming back till next morning and sometimes leaving for days without telling her. But one night she asks him for an answer. An answer he wishes not to say.

“Where have you been Albus? I deserve an answer!. You’ve been sneaking around during the day! then running off at night!…to return the next morning!. Sometimes not returning for a few days!…weeks even!”
“Minerva, darling. Calm down, it’s not what it seems” He replied softly, to calm her down. Knowing what her Scottish temper was like.
“Don’t darling me! And to calm down! Calm down! Tell me Albus where have you been?” She shouted at him, tears coming from her eyes
Albus sighed, looking down at the floor. He couldn’t bare to tell her.
“You’ve been with another woman, haven’t you?” she asked with anger
Albus looked up quickly and answered
“No. No I haven’t. I wouldn’t do that to you. I love you Min, and I always will.”
“Then tell me where have you been?” Tears pouring down her cheeks
He sighed again he had to tell her.
“o.k Minerva. Ive tried to be secret about it, hoping you’d never worry or find out but…”
“But what?” She demanded
“I…..I…..I
“What!…tell me Albus!” Tears escaping from her eyes
“I’ve been out at night or nights, looking for Horcux’s to help Harry kill Voldemort!” He answred loudly

“What?” She asked shocked to hear this.
“Horcux’s. Voldemort has split his soul into 7 Horcux’s, which has made him immortal from why Harry couldn’t…well..kill him as a child.”
“But…”Minerva was shocked at this and puzzled,”So…what are these Horux’s?”
“Well that’s the problom” He stated “ We don’t know”
“You don’t know?”
“No. But we have found, know 3 of the 7. One being Tom Riddle’s Diary, which Harry destroied and Riddles Ring, which I destroied…yet injured badly,” Lifting his right, badly burned, cursed hand, “and Voldemort himself being the last 7th piece, which Harry has to destroy to make Voldemort mortal to kill him,”
“That’s what happened….why didn’t you tell me.” She said gently rubbing his cursed hand between her palms.
“Because I didn’t want you to worry”
“About what?” she asked
“That there’s a good chance I might die doing this.” He said sadly

“What?…No!…You can’t!…I love you Albus!.” She said, gripping him into a loving embrace.
“I love you too my dear, with all my heart. But I must help Harry defeat Voldemort, so we can live in a peacefull world…where our marriage and love does not have to be a secret no more.” He said rubbing soothing cirles in her back.
“I don’t know what I’d do if you died” She said
Albus was hurt. He knew he was going to die. To die for Harry. To die getting a Horcux to kill Vodlemort. He was leaving in 2 hours time to the treterous cave’s of Bolivia inserch of a Horcux and he was going to take Harry. He knew he needed him now. To show him, hints and tips of what to expect in the future for the next Horcux and also someone to make sure he does what he has to do. He knew he has to sacrifice himself instead of Harry. He knew someone was out to get him at Hogwarts. He knew he couldn’t live forever. But yet wish to be, and to be with the woman he loved.

Turnig her head. Minerva looked, lovingly into his deep and sorrowful eyes.
“I’m sorry my dear.” He said, tears now escaping his eyes and running into his beard. “I didn’t want you to find out this way”
“It’s ok darling…we have a long time yet. You aren’t going anywhere.”
He didn’t have the heart to tell her he was leaving in a couple of hours, to weaken himself before his death at Hogwarts.
“My dear….i’m leaving in a couple of hours….with Harry. I’ll just be gone for a few hours but I’ll be back.”
“Promise me you’ll be back…Promise me you’ll come back?.”
Albus couldn’t lie to her but he will be back. He knew that, but for how long, Prof. Trwellany never said.
“I will be back”
Smiling Minerva kissed him deeply, with all the emotions and love she could supply to her husband.

“Yes”
“Make love to me before you go.” Mummbling into his neck
“For you my love,” A kiss to her neck” My pleasure.”
Kissing her deeply with the love he had for her. He led her into his bedroom, to show her how much he loved her…for the very last time.

Easing her gentle onto the bed, Albus slowly made love to his loving wife. He knew he’d miss her touch from her lips, her hands, her feel in him. It somehow broke couples aparts being like this but Albus and Minerva were complete, they were one. Either making love or just being around each other, they were complete. They were Romeo and Juliet. And slowly tonight, Album hoped to bring her to heaven…for the very last time.

“Albus?” She said feeling around the bed for him.“Albus?”
Albus turned to face the bed, buttoning his robes,
“Yes my dear” He said leaning over her to kiss her.
“I love you”
“I love you too.” He said settling himself on the edge of the bed beside her.
Slowly and gentely he rubbed her cheeks. Gazing into her eyes. For the very last time. Thoese eyes that caught his gaze years ago. How he loved them.
“Be safe love, and come back”
“I will” Albus got up from the edge of the bed he sat and walked into his sitting office to get his boots.

After buckling his boots, Albus walked back into the bedroom to find Minerva asleep. He loved the way she slept. He would miss waking up in the morning to see her cute and lovable sleeping form. Smiling, Albus walked over to her and leaned down to kiss her gently, hopeing not to wake her.
“I’ll miss you tabby. But I’ll always love you. Especially the way you check me off for eating to many sweets. They way you look at me…way you hold me…way you kiss me…the way you love me….the way you bring me closer to heaven….although I’m always in heaven when I’m around you my love. I’ll always be around for you tabby alawys…even though you won’t know it”

With one last kiss to her forhead. Albus left the bedroom. Stopping in the door frame for a moment to a catch another glance at his loving wife sleeping. Albus then left for his mission for the Horcux, knowing this would be his last hours alive.

Sorry such a sad, first songifc. Quiet heartbreaking to Albus’ last moments with Minerva.

thank you for the nice comments. i know i was crying myself when i wrote it.

Was a little curious to know what Dumbledore was doing before he and Harry left for the Hourux. Know he would have been thinking over his actions on this event but....this is my view/thought lol.

I was curious too about the hours before Albus & Harry went to the cave. I agree with your POV and thoughts... I even wrote a fic (in Spanish) about those moments so trust me, I know how does it feel writing the good bye.

That was so sad, I can't believe Albus left when she was sleeping!
Although I'm glad he told her about the horcruxes.
