Minerva McGonagall woke up in the empty darkness. Her husband, Albus Dumbledore was not yet home from a mission for the Order.
~I always needed time on my own
I never thought I'd need you there when I cried
And these days feel like years when I'm alone
And the bed where you lie is made up on your side
When you walk away I count the steps that you take
Do you see how much I need you right now~
Knowing that he said he would be home at about 11:00, she naturally began to get worried, got up from bed and started to pace back and forth in his office. Then she sat down by the fireplace where she started a bright warm fire to keep her warm as it was only 2:30 in the morning.
She wanted to be there when he got home tonight, to feel his strong arms wrapping her in his embrace,to smell his sweet scent of chocolate and lemons and to hear his voice whisper words of love in her ear.

Minerva got back up and started to pace again,trying not to think about how she was all alone and that Albus should have been home hours ago.
'What if he's injured?' She thought worriedly. 'What if he's... No he can't be.' Just at the thought of it brought tears to Minerva's sad green eyes. She pushed it out of her mind and started walking again.
She found his favorite robes lying on the floor. She must have forgotten to pick them up. She wrapped his robe around herself to remind her of his warmth. This reminder of him would have to do until he got home.

Everything that I do reminds me of you
And the clothes you left, they lie on the floor

When it was finally 3:00 Minerva was going to give up and go back to sleep when there were suddenly green flames in the fireplace and her husband stepped out. Minerva ran into his arms as tears ran down her creamy white cheeks and onto the front of his robes.
"Tabby I'm so sorry." Albus started, but she didn't hear it. She was in his arms and he was safe with her and thats all that mattered.
"Oh Albus... I missed you... so much. I... I just wanted you to come home. I thought something had happened. That you had..." She sobbed into his robes. He put his fingers to her lips and instinctively she kissed them.
"It's alright, Minerva. I'm here now. Calm down." He held her for a few more minutes while she cried and softly kissed her tears away.

Gaining her composure she looked up in his eyes.
"You haven't been home a lot lately and this is the latest time you've came without sending an owl. I missed you."
"It's alright. I'm here with you now." He picked her up gently and carried her to the bed and put her down. He layed down next to her and she rested her head against his chest as he stroked her soft black hair and occasionally kissed the top of her head as she fell asleep in his embrace.

I can hardly breathe, I need to feel you here with me,yeah~
Minerva knelt down in the soft grass and placed a hand on her husband's white grave.
'Why did you have to leave me. I miss you so much. Everyone does.' She thought to herself as a few tears welled up in her eyes. She was reminded of the one night when Albus had gone on an order mission and came home late. She was so worried about him that night and stayed up until he was home.
Those feelings that night came back to her as she still wanted to be wrapped in his arms, smell his sweet scent of chocolate and lemons and to hear his voice whisper words of love in her ear.
But last time he had come home to reassure her that he was okay. This time he would never come home to her.
