Harry strode with conviction over the hill toward the lake, to the dark forest that was forbidden. He knew his way about it almost as well as Hagrid- for all the times that he had escaped, or been chased or searched for answers here- it was an old wood that held secrets. Godric Gryffidores sword dragged from his hand, he had but one use for it now, perhaps, two.
Voldemort was nothing but a murderer. His followeres faired no better than he got, though life in azcaban prison would be enough with their dark memories to keep them haunted for a life time. It grew darker in the forest- he couldn't stop. He was following- a trail that would lead him to the truth. Fawks was dieing- or dead, he didn't know, but he did know, it was a way that the noble bird could not rise again. It was the portrates that were slashed - terrified of being there- that told him one that he had trusted with his life had betrayed him taking him to the forbidden forest to scatter his body so that Voldemort would win, even if he lost- One that had been a dear friend and allie to Albus had betrayed him.
He came upon the small clearing. There lay the shattered body of Albus, being held by Minerva. She wasn't crying, wasn't grieving. She just held him, singing a nameless tune as if he were asleep. Blood- albus's blood was all over her- over her hands, her dress, her face- the knife used tumbled down to the dirt beside Albus's still body.
She didn't acnoledge Harry. She didn't turn, she didn't blink, she just held Albus in her arms. Soundlessly- Harry raised the sword and plunged it through her back-through her heart, stabbing the two bodies together. She fell with a soft moan on top of Albus. He heard "I will be with you soon..." from her then silence.
Harry swallowed the bile that rose in his throat. he pulled the sword up and away when he heard the sound of a twig snapping to the side. He looked, seeing Madam Rosemaretta regarding him. Her apron had blood on it- just a bit- but enough to shock Harry. Long enough for her to pull out her wand and disarm him with the sword and wand.
"you did her a favor, you know. She was gone anyway- her mind that is. Pity that you couldn't tell friend from enemy, killing Albus, and then Minerva- they loved you as a son... Wonder what the Daily Prophet would pay for my story Eh? the world knows you are mad - so much the better for what has happened..."
"You killed Albus? why?"
"Knowledge is power young Harry. Power is knowledge... they, failed to see- that you must continue to adapt, to change, and accept which power will bring the most knowledge... " her eyes glinted "Accio Knife..." she said, it flying to her hand.
