Debunked Rumors


Before each Harry Potter book comes out, there are always people who will try to turn theories they've concocted into fact, or even those who will simply create rumors for the fun of it. Currently, there are a few about Book 7 and below you can find the ones which JKR has debunked.

Character Information
There will be no character named "Icicle," and JK said that she didn't recall saying there ever would be
Dumbledore is not Harry's relative
Harry is not related to Voldemort and he is not related to Salazar Slytherin
Lily Potter is not alive
Lily was not a Death Eater
Crookshanks is not an Animagus
Neville is not the son of Peter Pettigrew
Remus Lupin does not have a twin brother
Petunia is not a Squib
Dumbledore is not Harry/Ron from the future
Mrs Norris/Crookshanks will not be discovered as an Animagus
Plot Information
Harry will not become Minister for Magic
Peter Pettigrew’s silver hand will not kill Lupin
Lupin will not return as a DADA professor
The prophecy refers to Harry, and not in any way to Neville
The final part of the prophecy does not mean Harry has to kill Neville, or vice versa
Other
The title of the book will not be "Harry Potter and the Pyramids of Furmat"
No prequel books are planned (no books before Harry's time at Hogwarts)
"Keeper of the Keys" has no secret meaning
The Sorting Hat is not a horcrux

It would've made a little sense in a way that Mrs. Norris would've turned out to be an Animagus and the Sorting Hat a Horcrux. lol *shrugs*

I was so scared that it would say "Professor Dumbledore and Professor McGonagall are not married." Thank goodness it didn't! Maybe we should email JK and plead that she writes it in that they are!

And all this time I was hopeing the hat would be a horcrux... I even wrote a story about it! I am glad they didn't put "Professors McGonagall and Dumbledore are not married" That would have broke me...

That's not OT I would love to find out more about A&M in book 7. All I know about it is that two charector's die. That's what they were saying on the news that JKR announced last week.

Well we are going to be learning a lot more about Dumbledore. Its going to be great! I am so excited. I just know that we learn a hole heck of a lot more about him.

Hmm... Dumbledore is not Harry's relative, so Min and Albus can't be Harry's grandparents.

I know. Isnt that sad. but at least we get to learn more about Dumbledore. and I mean If you think about it, we might learn that they are/were married, or in a romantic relationship.

I donno... maybe the pleading thing wil work. lol. but when we do write her I am going to see if she will tell us if they are together. I mean it wouldnt have that much to do with the plot of the story... I dont think. But yeah.... Everyone help us write her! PLEAZE! lol

Uh.. how would you write her?? I guess plead until she shows pity or calls for the "happy place" people to take you far away. But I'd like to help write to her. I think this will probably end in a funny manner. Very good idea whoever came up with it.
