Hey I was wondering if anyone here plays an instrument because I play the flute

AAAH! Flute players! Run! Sorry, I play the cornet in a windband where there are 4 brass players and like a million flute players so we tend to joke about them. ;D

We don't have any flutes in our marching band! We may get some new ones this year from the lower grades, but for the past year or two we haven't had any.

I started out on the trumpet and moved to the French horn. Now (beginning last year) I'm a flag girl.

It's ok lullaby moon; we know you're just jealous. I play flute as well, but I've also started picking up the tin whistle. I wouldn't be surprised if my neighbors are planing a revolt.

I play the Flute and Clarinet. It's sad we only have 2 Flute players and 3 Clarinet players in my band.

I'm so excited! I march piccolo for marching season this year!! ;D Yay! lol I'm first chair in JV Band--I'm too little to be in any higher band. And besides, there are fifty million flutes in Concert band.. And only about 5 in Symphonic.. I dearly hope one of those Symphonic Chairs has my name on it this next year!!

Well, sorry to disturb this nice line of flute players but... I play the piano. ;D Not very well,though, only had lessons for 4 years, and the last one was... about 17 years ago. *whoops* Am more into singing nowadays but I can still play some stuff on the piano.

I've played the piano for eight years now, I'm not very good but well... also play a few other instruments but just a bit, few chords on the guitar and all.

Ummm the only thing i 'play' is my voice...well untill quite recently anyhow, i don't really sing any more, but used to a lot of choral work on stage.

well I was forced to play the flute and the piano when I was younger, but my parents had compassion for me at one point and allowed me to give if up ;D

Well, I taught myself how play the piano a little bit, but I'm still horrible. I used to play clarinet as well, but I gave that up after a while.

Nowadays I use my singing voice. I much more confident in that than I am on piano. When I'm at the nursing home I volunteer at I usually serenade the residents at dinner or we have little sing-a-longs. Last week we sang through the score of THe Sound of Music.

I just have one thing to say. FLUTES RULE!!! Wow, I just got a flashback to high school. Add my name to the list of flute players. I marched flute for 3 years and my senior year, I marched piccolo. I haven't played the flute much since graduation, so I'm sure I'm very rusty.

I also play the piano. I play that a lot more than my flute now. :-)

I play flute, piano and drums. Unfortunatly, I have a chronic illness, so I can't play very often, I just don't heve the energy. However, when I am well enough, I will throw myself back into my music, particularly drums.

Well, ok, so I play decently but in comparison with other kids at music school, I'm really the worst one of my year. Don't really mind anyway, play good enough to play what I want to play and don't need much more . Trying "Streets of London" again now ;D.

But you play better than you said too, Miss. Especially considering the fact that you just had four years of classes ages ago .

And eee, I'm glad to see so many people on here play an instrument!

I played the violin as well! Also was forced into piano lessons, but as soon as I got to uni I dropped both. Am now looking into the university symphony for violin...we'll see how that goes.

I'm going into my junior year of highschool in September, and I've been playing the violin since the fifth grade. Woohoo!

Also I'm self-taught (and pretty much useless) on the piano, so that's out... I dabble in clarinet, but not well, mind you... and if one of our recently-graduated bandos would return the only school flute, I'd have that in a second. I'm a very musical person, and have a tendency to learn instruments quickly, if only in a rather half-arsed manner.
