A....no B....argh! Uhmmmm, okay, I think I'll take the creature for now, but I so adore Hoochie and Aberforth. Still.... it's B for this week, I guess. Finally my vacation has arrived and I'll have more time to read (although not by much, I just bought a new horse I have to train and there are lots of papers for university due ). I'm very much looking forward to the next chapter, whatever option will be chosen. Huggles, Kayjay

Thank you for the update Ladies, it was just want I needed today.
The dream was really incredible, you constructed those first few chapters in such a fabulous way that it read either way - child or lover. Excellent. And well, the lemon was great as always.
The pensieve like box was a great idea.
I have no idea about next time - can I get both? If not I guess I will choose B, although I can't believe I am giving up a chance to see Hooch and Aberforth together!

That was another very well written chapter! I loved the lemon, and the dream. For the next chapter I'm going to have to go with B, despite my want to hear about Rolanda and Aberforth. -b

A/N: Well kids…you’ve gone it again. You’ve managed to create a tie with 8 votes for each option which means that we’re all winners this week! Thanks to Ginger Newts for giving us the phrase, “But Albus, what if someone sees us?” (spoken by Minerva) and Truly A Mused for giving us a rune stone.
And now we happily give you:
A Zoo of a Day
Albus stood in front of the mirror, turning side to side, as he viewed his new muggle suit. It had been a purchase made especially for the trip he had planned for Minerva today. He thought the muggles were a bit uptight when it came to clothing but he had to admit that he cut a striking figure. He hoped his lioness would like it as much as he did. He had certainly tried to pick something out that was a bit more fashionable and the witch at the store seemed to know what she was talking about. Picking up the lined leather jacket that had been his best purchase on his shopping day, he started to head for the door in order to arrive at Minerva’s on time when his fireplace flared to life.
“I hope I’m not late,” Aberforth stated as he dusted soot from his robes.
“Late for what?”
Albus watched as his brother managed to get dirt everywhere before he settled down on the couch, seemingly oblivious to the fact that Albus was ready to walk out the door.
“Our day together. I hope you didn’t forget, we planned it before Christmas.”
Albus mentally sighed as he realized that his brother was right. He had been feeling guilty about the lack of time he had spent with Aberforth of late, as he usually chose to spend his free days with Minerva if at all possible. As a result, he knew that Aberforth had been feeling a bit neglected and to make it up to him he had arranged to spend a day, just the two of them. However, it had totally slipped his mind when he had made his surprise plans for Minerva.
“Well actually, I had made some surprise plans to take Minerva to the zoo…”
“Excellent! I love the zoo and would love to come along.” Aberforth picked himself up and started to walk to the door. “I hope you don’t mind if I invite myself along. I am sure Minerva won’t care, after all we are nearly family. Besides, you owe it to me after forgetting about me again. You should consider yourself lucky that I don’t take this personally, or I am sure my heart would be breaking right about now.”
Albus stopped himself from sending a stinging hex at his brother. It was his fault after all that they were in this predicament in the first place. “Well you at least need to change before we go. I have some muggle clothes that should fit well, with few alterations.”
Albus led the way to his rooms with his brother in tow. He tried to rush things along as Aberforth rummaged through his clothes looking for the perfect outfit. He was late, very late, and he knew that Minerva hated to be kept waiting. Writing out a note on a piece of parchment, he sent Fawkes to her apartment and hoped she was in a forgiving mood.
Minerva looked up at the clock from where she sat reading a very good book, one that she wasn’t paying the slightest bit of attention to. It showed that Albus was now nearly fifteen minutes late. With a sigh, she closed the book and put it back in the bookcase. As she wondered what could possibly be keeping him, a knock sounded at her door.
She practically flung the door open when she reached it, ready to give Albus a piece of her mind. However, her words stilled on her tongue when she realized that it wasn’t Albus standing before her but rather a very smug looking Xiomara Hooch.
“I am so glad that I caught you at home. You don’t know how much trouble I had to go through just to locate your apartment. It has been forever since we last spoke and since I was in the neighborhood, I knew I just had to drop by or you would never forgive me.”
Xiomara marched into the house while Minerva stood motionless, her mouth still partially opened in surprise.
“Well aren’t you going to offer me something to drink? Or perhaps a custard tart if you have any around,” she added hopefully.
Spurred into action by her words, Minerva shut the door and went to join her. “Xiomara, as much as I would love to visit…”
“I knew you would be happy to see me. I think some of that special blend you always have around would be perfect.”
Minerva was suddenly confused. “Special blend?” she uttered, not realizing she was speaking out loud.
“Yes, of tea. You just offered me some and that is what I would like.”
Xiomara settled herself nicely on Minerva’s sofa while Minerva found herself bustling around the kitchen preparing a cup of tea. She wasn’t sure how it happened but Xia always seemed to have the same effect on her. As she finished with the brew, a great bang and scream had her running into the next room.
Xiomara looked shocked and was holding her chest as a large red and gold bird hovered before her. Her heart beating erratically, Minerva moved forward hoping that nothing had happened to Albus.
“Fawkes, did Albus send you?”
The phoenix flew over and landed on the post in the corner of her room before holding out his leg which had a piece of parchment tied to it. Minerva took the note and tore it open to read it while Xiomara was muttering in the background about flames and warnings.
“Well, are you going to tell me what that was all about?”
Xiomara sat posed, her eyes full of curiosity. She kept glancing at the preening bird, as if she expected it to attack at any moment, but as usual she couldn’t hide her interest in the mail her friend had received. Xia had never been one for beating around the bush.
“As I tried to tell you when your first came in, Albus is on his way over to take me out for the day. He sent Fawkes with a note to apologize for an unforeseeable delay on his end.”
“And your telling me that with all the owls at the school, he decided to use a phoenix instead?”
“He trust Fawkes, not to mention that he is very…wait, that is not the point Xia,” Minerva huffed.
All the excitement and unexpected events of the morning were starting to wear on Minerva’s nerves. She could feel a headache developing and had to take a deep breath and count to ten. As she decided on how best to tell Xiomara Hooch that she was going out and would need to leave, another knock sounded at the door. Praying that it was Albus, she quickly made her way over and opened it without hesitation.
Aberforth bustled inside past Minerva, obviously still in an ongoing conversation with Albus. “You know as well as I do that some of those creatures are housed there against their will. I wouldn’t be surprised if…hello Minerva, I hope we haven’t kept you waiting too long.”
“Aberforth, how nice to see you,” Minerva stated sweetly as she gave him a hug.
She looked over at Albus, the questions in her eyes being shot like daggers at him. Deciding that it was time she took control of her own house, she made short work of the introductions between Aberforth and Xiomara.
“Aberforth this is Xiomara Hooch, an old friend of mine. Xiomara this is Aberforth Dumbledore, Albus’ brother.” She waited impatiently as they each gave a greeting to the other. “Now, if you will please excuse us for just a moment, I would like a word with Albus.”
Grabbing Albus’ arm before he had a chance to escape, she dragged him to her room and shut the door. “What in Merlin’s name is going on?”
Albus stepped back as she spoke, an apologetic smile crossing his lips. “He showed up unexpectedly this morning. Well, it shouldn’t have been unexpectedly as we had planned it a couple of months ago, but I forgot…”
“Stop.” Minerva’s voice was strained as she made her way to her bedside cabinet. “I just can’t take any more this morning.”
Albus started to get concerned and walked up behind her as she poured out a measure of headache potion and quickly drank it down. He reached up and started to rub her shoulders while his voice whispered softly in her ear.
“I am so sorry my dear. I meant this to be a lovely surprise but the day is just not working out as planned. Aberforth and I were supposed to spend the day together, I simply forgot that I had made plans with him and overbooked. When I tried to get out of it, he invited himself along on our outing. I didn’t have the heart to tell him no. Can you ever forgive me?”
His words fluttered over her ears, causing her body to tingle and her nerves to calm. She could feel his emotions, concern, disappointment, love, all radiating into her. Suddenly she realized that it didn’t matter if she had a surprise guest or that Albus was late or even that Aberforth would be with them today, so long as they were together.
Turning to look him in the eyes, she pulled him close and kissed him. His arms pulled her tight as the kiss deepened and she moaned as one of his hands worked its way into her hair and firmly pulled her head back to give him greater access as he nibbled on her bottom lip. They broke apart, breathless, as they heard raised voices coming from the living room.
“I suppose we should go out and make sure they don’t hex each other.”
Minerva hummed a noncommittal answer in response and stepped back toward him, hoping to capture his lips before he could say anything else. She was one second too late.
“What is Xiomara doing here anyway?”
Minerva sighed as she opened her eyes and looked at him. “She thought it would be nice to drop by for a chat while in the area.”
As the voices in the other room escalated, Albus took Minerva’s hand. “We really do need to go break them up.”
“I know,” Minerva pouted. “But before we do, are you going to tell me where we are going today? After all, it isn’t often that you request that I wear muggle clothes.”
Albus laughed as they headed for the bedroom door. “With everything that has happened this morning, I forgot that I hadn’t told you. We are headed to the zoo.”
It was a short time later that found four individuals walking into the main entrance for the London Zoo. Aberforth was talking excitedly about the animals that he wanted to visit while Albus and Minerva trailed behind watching the muggles who were scattered around.
“Look at the confection that little girl has in her hands,” Albus exclaimed excitedly.
Minerva looked surprised and it reflected in her voice. “Surely you have had candy floss before today!”
“Is that what that is?” Albus’ eyes went wide and the girl stuck a fairly large piece in her mouth. “It looks divine.”
“It should. It is spun sugar and flavoring. It is really surprising that her parents would let her have such a treat at such an early hour.”
Albus’ eyes took on a bit of a glazed look at her description and Minerva had to thump him on the arm to keep him from staring.
“I promise you can have some while we are here but you had best stop staring before you bring any more attention to us.” Minerva laughed as he tore his eyes away. Some things never changed.
“Thank you for inviting me along. I haven’t been to the zoo since I was a little girl,” Xiomara gushed to Aberforth.
Minerva glanced ahead and had to stifle the urge to roll her eyes at the pair. Xiomara was clinging to Aberforth’s arm and smiling up at him. Minerva sighed a bit to herself as she took in her surroundings. She still wasn’t entirely thrilled with either her surprise or the fact that Aberforth had invited Xia along. It wasn’t that she didn’t like the zoo but it was still rather cold, even though the sun happened to be shining today, and she could tell by the twinkle in his eyes that Albus had more planned that just a simple stroll.
Add to that the surprise that awaited her and Albus when they had finally made it to her living room. The commotion they had heard while encased in her bedroom had been nothing more than Aberforth and Xia sharing jokes, laughing and generally having a great time with each other. She supposed the events of the morning had simply frayed her nerves and it reflected in her current mood for the day.
“Remind me again why we are at the zoo on a cold day when we could have stayed indoors cuddled up in front of a fire?” Minerva looped her arm through his as they walked towards a man giving away a map of the grounds.
“Because, I thought it would be nice to do something different for a change and I have something else in mind for today. Something which might just help you in your transformation.” Albus looked down into her face and smiled. “I am sorry about Aberforth tagging along with us. I hope you’re not still angry with me.”
Minerva stared into his eyes and saw a swirling tide of feelings there. “Sweetheart, I’m not angry. I never was. I was more irritated with the way the outing started in a rush with Xiomara, then Fawkes burst in and scared her to death. You showed up late with Aberforth in tow. It was just a bit manic for me and I’m the one who should apologize to you.”

Albus suddenly stopped walking and wrapped his arms around Minerva, pulling her flush against him. His lips slowly descended upon hers and his tongue slid out to trace the outline of her sweet mouth before plunging in to taste her.
At first, Minerva was too shocked to move but when his tongue began taunting hers, she gave in to her desires and kissed him back before remembering exactly where they were. As much as she hated to do it, she broke the kiss and pushed back a bit from him.
“What’s the matter? Not inclined to accept my displays of affection for you my dear? I couldn’t help myself. You just looked like you needed a kiss, as much as I needed to give you one.”
“But Albus, what if someone sees us?”
“Then they’ll certainly get an eye full won’t they? It’s not every day you see a couple as in love and flirtatious as we are, my lioness.” The last thing Albus saw before his lips touched hers again were her eyes falling closed as her mouth parted to accept his kiss.
“Merlin’s gray beard and staff! Can’t you two keep your hands off each other for at least half the afternoon?” Aberforth knew his brother would most likely have a biting remark to make in retaliation for his comment but he couldn’t resist the opportunity to tease Albus.
“I second that! I mean, if you wanted to stay in a lip lock, we could have stayed home and played a game while you two snogged. It wasn’t our idea to come see the animals today.” Xiomara Hooch elbowed Aberforth in the side and winked, knowing that if her cohort in crime was to get in trouble with his brother, she might as well get in a good jab at her best friend.
“Might I remind you, Xiomara Hooch, that you didn’t have to come along with us? You could have easily paid me a visit on another day.” Minerva looked sternly at her best friend as Aberforth laughed heartily. “And might I remind you, dear Aberforth, that you are here upon your own free will as well. You, too, could have declined the invitation and neither of us would have been hurt.” Minerva felt Albus’ chuckle rumble through her body as she leaned against him.
“Quite the fiery witch you’ve got there, brother. I can see she’s going to do well in our family. Now doesn’t this blasted zoo have a barnyard section?”
“Oh I love petting zoo’s,” Xiomara squealed. “It’s so much fun to pet the baby calves and those adorable little ducks and chickens are so cuddly. “What do you say we go off and find the petting zoo and leave the lovebirds to their own devices?”
Aberforth looked at Albus and winked. “I think that’s a fine idea. Who wants to be around a pair of lovesick gryffindors when I could be spending quality time with a pretty witch and some adorable goats.” He paused and looked panicked for a minute. “They do have goats here, don’t they Albus? If you’ve brought me here and they don’t even have a few baby goats, I’m going to be highly disappointed and furthermore…”
Xia grabbed Aberforth’s arm and pulled him off in the direction of the petting zoo according to her map. Minerva was almost certain she heard him saying something about making sure they were taking good care of the animals, which caused her to worry just a bit. The last thing they needed today was an incident in which Aberforth tried to ‘rescue’ the poor unfortunate animals being held without their consent.
“Well, now that they’re occupied for the rest of the afternoon, would you care to escort me to the more interesting section of the zoo? I thought we could breeze through the magical section and then take our time looking at all the normal animals they have. I’m sure Aberforth and Xiomara will be content to spend the afternoon in the barnyard section.”
“That sounds like a lovely idea. I must say that I’ve never been on a date to the zoo before so this should be interesting.” Minerva still wasn’t sure she was happy that her surprise had been a trip to the zoo but since they were here she had to make the best of it.
Albus brought them to a secluded section of the main zoo that was out of the way for most of the guests. He searched along a brick wall, muttering to himself about finding the right set of bricks.
“Here it is,” he exclaimed after a few minutes.
Minerva looked over to see Albus tapping his wand on a brick that was white in color. When he finished, a shimmering barrier appeared around them hiding their presence from any muggles which might be in the area. The bricks started to glow and change, until a large rune stone lay embedded in the brick before them. It glowed brightly, outlining the symbols that were carved on it, before it seemed to disappear leaving a doorway.
“Welcome to the Ministy for Magic’s zoo of magical creatures,” a voice boomed in the air as they moved through the entrance.
Minerva had to admit that once she stepped through the portal and into the zoo, she immediately felt different. It was as if her inner child was emerging once more, something which wasn’t entirely new to her since falling in love with Albus. She managed to sneak a glance at Albus’ face and she could already see he was going to thoroughly enjoy the day. In fact, she began to wonder if this outing was designed more for his pleasure than hers.
They strolled around the various exhibits, taking time to read the small placards which described the animals and their natural habitat. Minerva had to admit that going to the zoo with Albus was surely an adventure. He made up little stories about the lives of the animals as they went along and teased her with animated voices to accompany each animal. She couldn’t remember an afternoon when she had laughed so hard.
“Hey babe! Care to come over here for a bit and keep me warm?”
Minerva laughed, thinking it had been another one of Albus’ tricks. “Albus Dumbledore, you are simply terrible,” she said turning around to find him looking intently at the map.
“What? I didn’t say that, Min.” Albus looked around and saw nobody close by who could have made the bold statement.
“You old codger. You can’t be serious. How’d you land such a hot woman like her? I’m surprised you can keep her satisfied you barmy git.”
Albus and Minerva both whirled around, looking for the rude man. It was clear from both their expressions that the offender was in for a rather serious tongue lashing to say the least. But it was Minerva who discovered the identity and she burst into a fit of giggles and pointed him out to Albus.
“A jarvey? I thought those things were kept in a secluded section of the zoo, far away from children.”
“Mate, she’s far from a child from where I’m sitting. I’d like her to take me home and cuddle. Who are you, her grandfather?”
“I beg your pardon? This is my fiancée and I’ll have you know that we’re quite happy with the familiar we have, thank you. And quite honestly, he’s a lot more civilized than you.”
“You bloody geezer. I bet you can’t even arouse her tits, much less her…”
“Excuse me!” Minerva yelled. “I’ve heard quite enough out of you.” Minerva pointed her finger at the obnoxious and rather boisterous animal. “I know you don’t care to hear this and I’m not even sure why I’m bothering, but your comments are quite unnecessary. And whether or not he can do anything with my body is none of your damn business. Besides, you’re a bloody animal and there’s nothing you could do for me at all.”
“You just think I’m an animal. I’m really a wizard trapped inside this jarvey. Take me home and I’ll prove it to you, lover.” The jarvey had walked over as far as he could to the edge of his cage, never taking his eyes off Minerva. “Just take me home and I promise to be a good lap dog for you and have I ever got the tongue for it.” He snaked his tongue out in a rather provocative and insinuating gesture.
Albus had been patient long enough and he suddenly found himself pointing his wand at the offensive animal. “If you’re an animagus, then you won’t mind me performing a simple spell to prove it. Of course, it will be most painful and no doubt you’ll pass out but it’s a small price to pay if you want us to take you along, right?”
The jarvey looked first to Minerva then back to Albus and his cold eyes. “Shite mate! Just trying to bust loose from here and you had to go and spoil everything. Damn you and her too.” He turned his gaze towards Minerva and looked her up and down. “I hope you’re happy with this ruddy old man. Probably can’t get it up for you but it’s none of my business,” he mumbled and stalked away, leaving Albus and Minerva in disbelief.
“I think we’d better be moving on. And I fully intend to stop at the wizarding office and register a complaint about all of this,” Albus muttered grumpily to Minerva. His mood had changed drastically from the carefree one of a few moments prior.
“Now Albus, that’s not necessary. You know as well as I that it’s in a jarvey’s nature to be rude and offensive. If we had been paying attention, we could have spared ourselves the embarrassment and flared tempers by simply avoiding this area. I’m sure there aren’t many witches or wizards who willingly stop to share a moment with the poor beast.”
“And you wonder why?” Albus stopped and looked at Minerva. His eyes had lost their sparkle and his face showed signs of obvious irritation with the unpleasant animal.
Minerva stood up on her tiptoes and kissed Albus long and hard on the lips, as if they were alone and on the verge of making love. When she pulled back, they were both flushed and breathless. “Don’t listen to a thing he said, my lion. There’s only one man in this world who can arouse my body and that’s you. You’re the only one who knows exactly what I like and you do it so well.” The purr in her voice went straight to Albus’ groin and he could feel himself becoming tingly. “And I hope that you’ll be willing to share your talents with me tonight…after we get rid of Aberforth and Xiomara.”
Once more, Albus’ face held a smile and his eyes began to twinkle. Minerva somehow knew exactly what he needed to hear and she made his world perfect. “I think this barmy old codger can arrange that for a hottie like you.” He playfully patted her bottom and leaned down for another kiss. “Come on…we have one more stop to make before we find our guests and head home.”
“And where would that be? The gift shop or some little stand that sells candy floss?”
“Hmm, that’s a wonderful idea but alas…no. That is not where we’re heading. I want you to close your eyes and I’ll tell you when to open them.” He waited until she had done as he asked then led her a short distance away back into the muggle section of the zoo. “Alright, you can open them,” he whispered into her ear. His arms were wrapped around her from behind and he barely heard her gasp as she suddenly realized where she was standing.
“Oh Albus, they’re beautiful.” Minerva leaned as closely as she could to the railing and watched the lions and lionesses with keen interest.
“Study them, sweetheart. Take all the time you want to get in touch with the way they move, the way they interact, everything about them. I thought that by spending some time observing them, it might help you when you try to transfigure into your lioness form.”
Minerva turned around in his arms and kissed his cheek softly. “Merlin, I love you. You have to be the most thoughtful, loving, caring man in the world.”
“Depends on whom you ask,” he chuckled, nodding his head in the direction of the jarvey’s cage. “But we can debate that later. Right now, I want you to focus all your attention on the lioness in the corner. She seems to be the oldest female of the pride and most likely the one from whom you can learn the most.”
Minerva nodded her head and focused all of her attention on the lioness, being sure to note how gracefully she moved and interacted with the other lionesses and even the lions in the group. Before she realized it, Minerva had spent nearly an hour, just watching them and trying hard to imagine herself as a lioness.
Albus sat back and instead of watching the animals, he focused all his attentions on Minerva. He could see the light in her eyes and he instinctively knew that this was just the spark she needed to help in her transformation. At times, the lioness would stare back at Minerva with the same intensity and he wondered if perhaps they were communicating on some level. He wouldn’t have doubted it in the least.
As much as he hated to do it, Albus had to break into the contemplative mood Minerva had entered. The sun was beginning to go down, the air was getting much cooler and they still needed to find Aberforth and Xiomara before returning home. Besides, he wanted to curl up with Minerva in front of a fire to warm him toes and then to prove to her once more just how much he loved her.
Options:
A) During a quiet night spent together, Albus and Minerva begin to talk about their upcoming wedding. Plans start to come together when they realize that they are of a like mind when it comes to the details of the ceremony.
B) Albus and Minerva are surprised when the Flamels and McGonagalls conspire together to send the couple to a lovely restaurant in London. With all the chaos of the weeks following Christmas, their closest friends and relatives realize the couple’s need for time away.
Voting for this chapter will end on February 28.

Another wonderful chapter! Poor Minerva, I can't imagine having all that madness descend on one's house all on the same morning. It was cute the way Xiamara and Aberforth got along though, and I loved the bit with the lions. I wonder if they were communicating and what the lionness had to say to Minerva. Tough choice for next week...I think I'll go with A, I'd love to find out what they're thinking for wedding plans.

I loved this update, particularly Aberforth's lines;
That cracked me up. You both have such a fantastic sense of humour - particularly with the madness descending upon Minerva's home. Albus' surprise was lovely and I loved your description of this scene. It was beautiful.
Tough decision... but I am going to have to go with A.

Lovely, lovely, lovely update. Aberforth and Xiomara are too funny for words, ya just gotta love em.
That certainly was a very rude jarvey. I'm glad Albus put him in his place. I loved the scene with the lions and the lionesses. Minerva will make a wonderful lioness.
I want...A...next time. A, A, A, A, A, A, A, A, A,...ok, I'll stop now. Wedding planning would be wonderful.

Another wonderful update !!! The idea to let her watch the lioness was wonderful !
For next time, I vote A - I'd like to see some wedding plans, definitely ... ;D

Great chapter! I loved the idea with the zoo. And again you make us face a tough decision...I too would like to see some wedding preps, but a getaway is sooo much fun! (at least it can be) Just to be different and because I really wanna see some more lemons I vote B! Huggles, Kayjay

Hmm... Both sound tempting but I have to go with B!

I can't wait until Minerva transforms. This is all based on such a great idea! I will vote for A! - Jess

I liked this update soo much, the Jarvey and the chaos of Aberforth and Xiomara.
I think I would like A for next week.
