Okay so I was on a Maggie message board. Apparently someone read on theleakycauldron.org that the stunner scene might not be in the movie.
It's not like I want to see Maggie get shot at. Actually, I'm pretty sure that I'll end up crying when it happens. It's just that she and Michael hardly get any screen time.
This movie is really starting to suck. First the big possibility of "He will not be single-handed" not being in it, now this?
I swear, if there's not at least one shipper moment in there, I'm going to just start screaming in the theatre. Who cares if the usher kicks me out? If the ship goes down in the movie, I'll go down with it.

WTF!!?! It MIGHT not get included?! It's not fair!! I was under the impression that there would be at least a scene that Maggie will get shot. And they say that Micheal Gambon is one of the stars...

That makes NO sense to me... There's a pic of Minerva reading The Daily Prophet after they finally admit to Voldemort's return or whatever.. Isn't she in a wheelchair, supposedly after the Stunner attack??

I've seen that pic. It really bugged me at first since she's suppose to be on a walking stick. Then I thought of all the possibilities of Min being on a wheel chair. Maybe Albus will get to push her. Wouldn't that be sweet? Anyway, back to the main topic.
Supposedly at the time the movie was seen by the person who said the stunner scene wasn't in it, they were still doing the special effects.
Does that make sense? I dunno. I'm still kind of investigating this whole thing.

AWW, that would be sweet if Albus pushed her. *giggles like a little girl*
They better have put the scene in there. Geez, still over a month to go!

Okay, I just found on the Harry Potter Fan Zone site that Minerva's Stunning scenes HAVE BEEN filmed! As for what's not in the film, I found this: What's been cut/unknown:
(It has not been confirmed whether any of these scenes or characters have actually been cut, but there has been widespread speculation that it is the case.)
Enchantment Casting told Harry Potter Fan Zone that the characters of Marietta Edgecombe and Lavender Brown may be cut Mundungus Fletcher (left off an initial cast list) Miranda Richardson told Harry Potter Fan Zone at the New York premiere of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire that Rita Skeeter will not appear in the film. This has not been confirmed by Warner Bros. There's also a listing of scenes that are in the movie. Here's the link if you're interested: www.harrypotterfanzone.com/?ID=movies/movie5/ootpproduction

If Marietta Edgecombe is cut out there goes a big part of the 'He will not be singled handed' scean. I just got done reading that story to my cousion before I put her to bed and she's a big part of the begining of that scean hello she's the one who narked on the DA

Hold on, I'm checking IMDB.com to see if Marietta is on the cast list... Nope! She's not on the full cast list.. But Dawlish is. He was there in that scene, right? Maybe they can work around it. *crosses fingers* I mean, they can't just leave the office scene out! That's a very important part in the book- Dumbledore leaves. This is making me more and more pessimistic about the possibility they may leave the "single-handed" quote out, though.

These movies are getting worse and worse. I swear if they leave out the single-handed thing it's just the end. SS, CoS, and PoA were good but GoF kinda sucked in my opinion (except the Min, Snape, Albus scean and the dancing thing with Ron).

Hey, I liked Albus and Minerva's dance scene too! lol But yeah, GoF wasn't that great compared to the book. I never expected them to keep the films exactly like the books (they'd be 10 hour films, lol!), but they definitely could have done a better job.

*headdesk*
They can't do this. I might cry, maybe I won't bother seeing this film afterall.

One of the darn reasons I wanted to see this film in theaters was because of the "single-handed line." Now all I have to look forward to is the Stunner scene. At least that's still in there. They better not mess it up, either, but it's bad enough they put her in a WHEELCHAIR!!

Minerva is just not the kind of person that would let her cubs see her in a wheelchair. She's too proud and too stubbron. Jeeze they've just made these movies go to hell.

maybe, but the most important scene is in it. The stunner attack, when I read it, I was crying it was so embarrassing... and my mother asked me what was wrong, and when I said that McGonagall had beed attacked, she just looked at me like I was an idiot..
so when you guys started out with it might not be in the movie, I was devastated.
So right now I'm happy my favourite scene is in it:-)LOL

I'm glad Maggie's gonna have at least one of her important scenes in it. Let's be honest though. How many of us are going to cry when she gets attacked?
*raises hand*

Me! You can't read the part of the book where she gets attack cause I cried over it. This is the girl who punched a girl over her making fun of Maggie/Minerva.

I cried when I read the book too. My step-mom went all bitchy on me and started saying how "its just a book". God I hate her. We ended up arguing. Poor Dad ended up in the middle of it.

Mmm I didn't cry in the books, so the miserable film won't make me cry. I was just shocked when it happened in the books.

My cheerleading coach was the one who went bitchy on me. We were going to camp and on the way back I got to the stunner scean it was so horriable. I cried the whole way home, except when I had to run those laps when we got to school cause I punched Megan....

She did deserve it. She insulted Maggie, Minerva and ADMM. Besides I only gave her a little nose bleed.

Anything's better than POA, though, right? She was in it...maybe three times, if you were looking closely.
Annoying!

I agree with beMMADfabulous and I don't think they can leave this scene out. Maybe Dumbledore is going to vanish in the middle of the Great hall, who knows. Do you know anything about the 2 great scenes McGonagall has with Umbridge - when she comes to "observe" the transfiguration lesson and the carrer advice?

Post by mcgonagallrocks on Jun 8, 2007 10:58:28 GMT -5
OMG if they leave those out I will be slightly upset but I think I've seen pics from the carrer advice thing somewhere. I'm not quite sure where though. The Transfiguration lesson one would be great but admitted we havne't had a good lesson scean since CoS.

Same here. My family doesn't wanna watch the movie with me since they're afraid I'll freak out when they mess something up. Which I probably will. I wouldn't be surprised if I got kicked our of the theater. I almost did in GOF. I started squeling when I saw AD/MM dancing. I was so excited. *sighs*
Then the bitchy step-mom got mad at me for "making such a scene"

I did that too and when PoA came otu I kinda started cursing under my breath about Dumbledore. He simply is not the Dumbledore that he could be anymore. Ok I know they can't get Richard back but that's not the point. They could have gotten closer.

When Gambon plays the role, it's like he's mean to everyone. Including Min.
