What else do you ship?

I was thinking about this last night, despite obviously Albus and Min what else do we all ship because I think it's rather interesting to see what ship ideas we all get since we all avidly ship Albus/Min to see if they're similar or different.

I'll start then, some of mine cross over characters but some are never going to be cannon. They are in order of preference after Albus/Min.

Fred/Angelina & George/Alicia

Remus/Sirius - I used to ship these lots and once even wrote a fic about them, kinda don't much anymore.

I really love poppy/alastor and snape/hooch. i also have a thing for fred and angelina. and ron/hermione.
but now that i think about it i can see a few fics with hagrid/madam maxime.
this is going to be a little off topic but does anyone know who Karkaroff was dancing with at the yule ball. they were cute together.( yes i know i'm weird, my boyfriend tells me that every day)

They were cute together...I noticed that while watching the movie.

I also ship the usual, RW/HG, HP/GW, etc. I like RL/NT too. I'm not big on slash because none of the HP characters strikes me as being gay, however...Revert to Type by LinZe is an awsome Snape/Lupin fic that also has some AD/MM.

Hmm, what else do I ship? There's a looong list. I mostly read (in no particular order):

I also like Alastor/Poppy as a sideship, and Maxime/Hagrid and Severus/Madam Hooch to an extent. Also I can't forget James/Lily and Arthur/Molly

I'm not a *huge* fan of slash but I don't mind Sirius/Remus as a sideship. I'm also reading an SSHG at the moment and it has Draco/Harry as a sideship, which although I wouldn't go *looking* for a fic solely about them, is written very well, adds an interesting touch and doesn't ruin the story. I don't mind slash sideships if they're written well but I tend to stick to het ^^

But I can't *stand* incest. No no no no *no*. And I won't read pure smut either.

I have been wondering for a while, who had the idea to 'ship' somebody with Snape. I mean what has based the idea to ship Madame Hooch with him? I have always had problems with this. Don't misunderstand me, I love stories where they interacts with my favourite couple. But on the contrary of MMAD or Madame Maxime/Hagrid, in this case we can see, hear them together in the books, there is nothing I can remember regarding them. And I don't know why, but I don't like 'impossible things'. And what is more, there is JK's saying about Snape, that is "Who could love him?", or something simillar.
And this is my problem with Madame Pomfrey and Alastor Moody, too.

True, there have been no particular interactions. I think people just put them together because their personalities suit each other. And because Poppy and Xiomara/Rolanda aren't really seen that much in the books, we can adapt them to suit Alastor and Severus. Poppy would probably suit Alastor in a way, as he's all for going out and fighting and being independent, while Poppy's always insisting on bed rest. And Hooch strikes me as playful, the type to tease Snape and for him to get worked up about it because he thinks she really thinks he's whatever she's saying he is.

I've read I think one Minerva/Remus and one Minerva/Moody and propabably a Minerva/Snape at one point too. I liked the stories and they were well written (to my distant memory) but I just can't imagine her with them when really it should opnly be Albus. I've always wondered that about how they put other couples together besides Maxime/Hagrid, MMAD, and the other obvious couples. Honestly, I think MMAD is the only one that I can see happening that hasn't been really observed by J.K. in the books as being an actual couple. Oh, and Filch and the librarian (?). Harry and Hermione talked about them possibly being in love in the 6th book.

;D At the end of the 6th book I was crying because obviously the ending is very sad. When harry sees Filtch and Pince standing close together before the funeral I started laughing because I remembered earlier Harry thought they might be together and I think they are a funny couple. I plan to write a fic about them.

(I was reading the book for the first time in the car while my mom drove and she was making fun of me for crying; when I started laughing she just looked at me.)

I read a Minerva/Snape once too, it was called "A Night of Passion Gone Awry" and it was well written with a reasonable plot. I'm not a big fan of SSMM any more but I owe a lot to that story as it inspired me to start searching for stories with just Minerva and no specified other character and that was how I found ADMM

While Minerva and Severus stories can be interesting, it sort of makes me squick now I think of it. I can see them being friends but no more than that; I just don't think they're each other's type. Min is just destined to be with Albus... For some reason I think Severus and Hermione suit each other but not Severus and Min - although Hermione and Minerva are similar there are profound differences that are hard to explain.

I definitely can't see Albus with anyone else, except perhaps a wife earlier on? But it doesn't strike me as particularly likely.

I like pretty much all the canon ships (and Neville/Ginny, a bit), but the only one I'm really interested in is ADMM.
I don't mind Snape/Hooch or Poppy/Alastor and I can live with Pince/Filch, but some of the other pairings out there strike me as very weird *no offense, anyone!*
Call me prejudiced, but I hate AD/someone-not-MM and MM/someone-not-AD. It's just a thing with me, if I ship something, then I ship it fiercely.

Well, number one ship is a no-brainer, but other than them I support all the canon ships, such as Lily/James, Arthur/Molly, Remus/Tonks, Ron/Hermione and Harry/Ginny. But I also think Harry/Hermione works well. I also like Neville/Luna. I don't mind Severus/Hermione and more minor ships such as Oliver/Katie and Fred/Angelina as sideships. Also, I like Poppy/Alastor and Snape/Hooch. The only slash pairing I could say I ship to some extent would be Remus/Sirius, but that's mostly as a sideship and to find some common ground with my friends, who are completely squicked by the very idea of ADMM (I tried to point out that was much more realistic and cuter than HPDM, but to no avail. Another disparity is that they're both very in to dark, angsty, self-harm fics. They actually blocked me on MSN when I was trying to tell them about the joys of wonderful reviews for fluffy ADMM. I'll stop there before I go even more off topic.)

The only slash or femslash I really like is Sprout/Pomfrey. I don't know why but that makes sense in my head. Plus Sprout is one of my favorites in the movie (any woman who loves being the size she is and tells people that is ok by me!) so I'll read just about anything with her in it. Has anyone ever seen Sprout and someone else paired?
