I know! And they don't have hardly anything in common, they're two completely different types of ships (then again, I don't think I've ever come across a ship quite like Saula. They're definately different).
I wish I was a better fan. I held onto Saula for so long, and it was really depressing, and I finally just had to jump off the ship. It was quite sad, actually. All the rumors of drugs and whatnot, and I just couldn't find it in myself to defend Paula anymore.
But just yesterday, I read an old fic called Raw on the MSN board, and it really brightened my day. I love the old Saula fics. The ones I read when I was just starting out...awww. Memories.

I'm glad there are other Mulder/Scully grads here! Absolutely loved them, but Chris Carter spoiled me because it lulled me into the false sense of security that all my romantic fantasies would eventually become reality. Alas, no. I actually was not even aware of this Saula phenomenon until now, but hey, if we can ship real people, I'm going to confess I've always though Matt Lauer and Katie Couric from the Today show just had to have had a fling at some point. All that early morning sexual tension...It just hasn't been the same since she (unwisely) went to CBS. *gazes away wistfully remembering Matt and Katie chasing each other on snowmobiles during the Salt Lake City Olympics before returning to the present* I really liked Frasier/Roz from Frasier but that one never came to pass. Luke/Lorelai (Gilmore Girls) was ultimately triumphant but only after I nearly got into a fistfight with a Christopher/Lorelai person, so that has some bitter memories. (There wasn't really a fistfight, but these things happen...) I REALLY liked Jack and Irina on ALIAS and I guess that counts as a ship. I loved Jed/Abby (West Wing) fanfic Anyway, in HP, I also like Harry/Ginny and Dark Lord/Bellatrix. Oh, and Percy/Penelope.

I only really think about Harry Potter ships, which I've already put. Though my all-time favourite that is simply wonderful and everyone should read the fic 'Bella Rosa' is Bellatrix/Remus (I've always thought she was a year younger than the Marauders - no idea why.)

hmm well I also used to/still do despite it not actally happening, love is CJ/Toby on West Wing. Simialr in the sense of close friends that might just be something more or that could have had a really intereseting back story, but we never found out. Also gotta admit Niles/Daphne, but really who didn't love that? and it sounds odd but Jack/Karen, but not as a romantic type of thing, just had all these convoluted scemes in my head where they ended up married but bringing home all sorts of men and having crazy adventures.

Daphne/Niles was adorable. I liked it better when he was still kind of lolling after her though. They were cute when together, but not as funny. Before then you just had to wonder how she didn't notice.
Also Frederick's crush on Daphne was the sweetest thing ever ("Hi, Daphne . . . ").

Odd, I seem to remember posting in this thread, but just read through and can't see it anywhere.
Well, I only actually WRITE ADMM, but I read (when I have the time) some other ships, or like the idea of:
Alastor/Poppy
Rolanda/Aberforth
Severus/Hermione
Severus/Minerva (sparks flying)
Harry/Luna (though to be honest the teen ships don't interest me much).
Harry/Albus (betcha didn't see that one coming. Guilty secret, *cough*).
Luna/Albus (well Evanna Lynch saw this one too!)
Severus/Albus (just interesting)
Bella/Voldy (I have yet to read a good fic of them, if someone could recommend me one I'd be very happy).
I do have a few other ships, but as they're anime related most people won't know what I'm talking about!

My introduction to Minerva/Hermione was when I searched for Min stories on ff.net and came across this excellent story where Harry managed to trap them, and they had to kiss to escape because of some spell.It was so well written and it actually worked. Of course it helps that they're my two favourite characters.  I also quite like Severus/Hermione- some of those are brilliant, and so is Dramione. God I'm weird. ;D |

Snape/Hermione is my other major ship. I never would have liked them, but I started reading the stuff on Ashwinder, and they're SUPER strict on writing, so it was kind of hard to find something bad.
And I loveeeee Minerva/Hooch. =]

New favourite ship (I have managed to convert myself because I have never seen this pairing before I wrote it)

Heehee, Minniequill, I have to admit that I was a shameless pusher of your current Fred/MMness and I loooove it! Bizarro, but it works.
I'm sure I've posted on this thread before that my HP ships are ADMM and SSMM, but I don't think I'd added my non-HP ones.
My orginial (and one true) ship was Mulder/Scully. I started writing fics for it before I even had a computer and I sure as hell didn't know that anybody else out there was doing the same thing.
After that it was Hannibal/Clarice (pre Hannibal the movie/book) and God, a whole *lot* of tv ships.
-Luke/Lorelai
-Assumpta/Peter
-Jordan/Nigel (not that *that's* ever going to happen!!!)
-Susan/Marcus
Those were the main ones, anyway...and generally speaking I would get proven right, which kind of takes the fun out of shipping it for me. I like the possibilities when something hasn't happened yet.
Currently I've got Elliot/Olivia and House/Cuddy going for me.
Okay, I guess that's the end of mine for now. I'm sure I have more embarrassing ones in there somewhere.

That's it though; it is SO bizarre. I think it's because I am steadfast in my belief that Minerva is 'Jean Brodie in a witch's hat' and thus that's how I've written her. That and Fred (in my world) is so adorable. I love him in canon and he just fits Minerva so well for some obscure reason. *sighs and plans to write others*.
As for other ships NOT HP...

Moira/Peter in Hook; also Tink/Peter (love that scene - love that whole movie actually. When Maggie says 'Hello, boy' I just go to pieces)

And not bad - looking ... ;D I'm not sure whether I prefer House/Cuddy or House/Cameron, though ... They both are cute somehow ... As for other ships: anything with Julie Andrews - I love Clarisse/Joe, Nanny/Wilkes, Catherine/Robert and so on ... |

I can't believe there are so many ships in the world I don't recognise about half of them so I guess I've never seen/read whatever they come from, but that's my geographical problem. This is going to look strange but I'm seriously interested only in ADMM - to the point of obsession and hysterics, yes. I liked Tonks/Lupin even before it became canon. Now it seems to belong to the same category as Bloody Baron/Grey Lady, though. Snape/Lily - I thought it possible and wasn't too happy about it. Bella/Voldy - I don't think this can be called love but it definitely is some sort of ship. By the way, isn't Bellatrix pictured as Minerva's counterpart? Especially in the scene where Min cries when she thinks Harry is dead and B. laughs at her. They are both the strongest supporters of 2 counterparts, too. Which leads us to the 1st ship |

I agree that it's much easier to imagine the Fred/Minerva thing with a Jean Brodie accent imagined, but I honestly think that the power and believeability is in the build up and the circumstances.
In the face of Umbridge and with the growth of respect as a united front etc it's just been rendered plausible. Credit to you, Minniequill.
I'd be interested to see what else could make Fred/Min work. It's a crazy thought...

.... I have no idea if I posted before, but my current favorite pairing would be ADMM, followed by Eragon/Arya. I just love these two. After extreme television addiction, I just love the mulder/scully relationship. I have no idea why. Perhaps it's the tv's fault. Besides that, I also like reading Artermis/Holly fanfiction and Arwen/Aragon...

I love ADMM most at the moment, but I also love mcgonagall/hooch. and hocch/snape....actually snape/anyone is pretty good, lol. I wrote a fic for Molly/Narcissa recently but I don't really ship it, and I read a Minerva/Molly that was really quite good as well, but I don't really ship that either. I think I have a problem with shipping random women at random times OMG, Minerva/Bellatrix...that's just *drools.* I'm off to read fic now, lol.... anyone know any good fics for that? are there any fics for that? Outside of Harry Potter I really am a bit of a trekkie, but I keep my shipping mostly mainstream. Janeway/Chakotay is my main ship followed by Picard/Crusher, (I have a thing for redheads...I like mulderscully as well, come to think of it) but I hate Imazdi shipping. I don't know why, its just....*shudder.* I like Janeway/Kashyk, Counterpoint was just an amazing episode, but I rather like Janeway/anyone so that's not really saying much. wow, that turned into a bit of a rant, lol |
