I read somewhere (LiveJournal, I think) about the Anti-Ship challenge-where you have to write about a ship you totally despise. Obviously, this isn't a place you could post those...but I was wondering, if you did write a fic about your anti-ship, what would it be? Oh, and don't say Albus/other or Minerva/other. Clearly anything that isn't ADMM is pretty low on everybody's ship list!
Mine would be Snape/Hermione. I love Snape, love Hermy, but them together just bothers me. It makes no sense. I know a lot of people who support that ship, I've even read a few half-way decent fics about them, but I just don't like it.

I think mine would be Harry/Severus. I don't like slash much anyway, Harry is not gay and he and Snape actually loathe each other and would like to kill each other. This ship also makes no sense. Much of Harry Potter fandom seems to be based on the idea of 'Hey, let's totally disregard their canon relationship.'

I really wanted to say Minerva/Severus...
Hmm. *taps chin thoughtfully* Probably Sprout/Hooch. Sorry to anyone who may ship them.

I would write Harry/Hermione (sorry to the shippers) because to me they just do not fit together. And I wanted to pick a ship that's pausible in any small way since they're friends, the same age, close etc. If only it weren't for her and Ron and Harry and Ginny ... (Sorry that was childish) Harry/Snape is unbelievable! That has to be a close second.

There are tons of ships I absolutely can not see happening, but the only one of those I could write would probably be Harry/Hermione.

There's actually not many ships I really despise... I'll basically read anything, as long as it's well-written and interesting. I guess what I really don't like is those Weasley-cest stories and such... Fred/George and all that *shudders* .

I agreee. I can't stand Fred/Geoorge. My most hated on has to be Harry/ Serverus or Serveus Hermione. Ick.... No offence to anyone though.

I don't read anything incest or twincest. Hmmm....at one time I would have said Hermoine/Snape, but I have read some stories set when she is older that were plausible. I think I'm going to go Sirius/Remus. I don't have a problem with slash or femslash as a rule but for some reason this really bothers me a lot.

I don't like the twincest, Harry/Snape, Harry/Draco (I don't like slash or femslash actually), Hermione/Snape, Harry/Pansy... and I really really hate Remus/Molly! I hate a lot of ships, to be honest...

Well, I don't like slash or femslash either, and although I've only read a few of these, I really don't like the Remus/Minerva pairing either. Not sure which I'd write though.

Remus/Molly-why is that even a ship? It makes no sense at all.

I think for me, the question is more like "what else do I read?". There are so many I don't like (I refuse to read slash/femslash), some that just 'aren't', and others that aren't my first pick, but may not be bad.
Remus/Min actually got me into HP fanfic, actually lol. I don't mind that pairing at all, however I much prefer ADMM.

Remus/Molly-why is that even a ship? It makes no sense at all. That's the kind of thing I don't understand- why are so many ships a ship at all? I don't get where they see the stuff. Granted, some are pretty logical (i.e. ADMM ;D ).

There are too many 'ships' that people try to pretend are actual ships, and that's the problem.
And I don't mean ones that have been disproved like Harry/Hermione or Neville/Luna. I mean the ridiculous ones like... yeah like Remus/Molly. Or ones that break up cannon couples, or ones with Voldie in them.

Post by KSpirit on Oct 4, 2006 7:47:45 GMT -5
Hmm, Voldie? Never seen those...I think those would bother me...I mean, who wants to read about that?
Yeah, I agree with too many pairings being made ships. Remus/Molly is just not right, and I also don't understand a need to ship the cats (personally). Why do they get a ship?

And us MMAD shippers are the weird ones apparantly... I know! I don't see how we're the odd ones. Our ship is very logical, I think. Most HP fans will agree, despite the fact that a lot of people think it's "gross" because they're "old".

Most HP fans will agree, despite the fact that a lot of people think it's "gross" because they're "old". I totally don't understand that. Do the majority of people truly believe that at some point you just stop being in love or making love b/c you are old? Some of my favorite ships are older people! I just don't get it!

I had this girl join my new HP site that's like set before the 1st war and she blew a fuze cause I was playing Min and my bf was playing Albus and she said and I quote "Why in the hell are you playing those two as a couple? It's not even romotely cannon." Not even romotely cannon? Excuse me they could so tottaly*and are* a couple. If I were doing a story for this challenge it would be either Ginny/Draco, Min/Voldi (I actualy read a dicent story with those two as a couple kinda weird though their kid was Hermione), or Lupin/Narcissa(yes i found one of those).

And they cant be really nasty. but yeah.... ok... a ship that i dont like.....

I din't know there were so many weird ships. I don't like any that are not supported by at least something from the book (I don't mean things like they once talked to each other)If something happens in the books I don't mind, even if I'm not delighted by it. So, the worst ship, hm. The one just mentioned at this board, I think it was Hagrid/Snape was pretty disgusting. I don't like same sex pairings because I don't think anyone in the books is gay. Somebody once mentioned they had come across a Hermione/Umbridge fic. So that's absulote nonsense. And anything including the Giant squid

K, so, umm... I'm going to say that I have a thing of picking ships that aren't going to happen. H/Hr, R/L, P/C just to name a few. I seen a few people say they can't stand a Severus/Hermione story. Actually, I've read some pretty good stories about those two. And I can't stand any type of slash. THe only slash story I read was Harry/Draco and (I think) they were on top of the astronomy tower and their kissin and stuff when Luscious shows up, kills Draco and I found slash to be stupid. Now, I'm going to get back on topic and say I'll never write a rhr or gh fic. ever. Just thought I'd add in my share.

Well, Harry/Draco has always turned me off. Hagrid/Albus and Fred/George come to mind - and YES, I have seen the former in existence. Does anyone here visit Deleterius? community.livejournal.com/deleterius I've seen some real horrors there. Anyone's who's been there for any amount of time knows the horror that amounts to fanfic legend: that of Subjugation, featuring rapist!Dumbledore and hermaphrodite!Snape. I am damaged, folks, I really am.

Hmmmm..... so many ships i hate so little time. I'm not a big fan of slash/femslash (although I did read an interesting mm/hooch fic a while ago). But the worst ships in my opinion are Harry/Hermione and Harry/Ginny. I think there is just so many fics out there (and most of it not very good..*sorry*) that there is nothing original being written about them.
