Mary/Bert and Maria/Georg. I'm so addicted to Maria/Georg on the Finest School my character is a screwed up wizdarding version on the von Trapps. I messed with the ages and named the oldest daughter Endora. But still it's kinda TSOM.

:oI can't belive i have to choose!! I've always adored Julie, Maggie on the other hand is a bit new to me... I've watched almost all her movies - grandmum has them all - she is wonderful, but alas i choose Julie. ;D

Do you think it's inbuilt, to be a romantic? Ya know, I'm starting to think it is. I remember asking my grandmother when I was little when her pair of male and female cats would get married.  I also loved to watch TV Land and Nick @ Nite shows, but I didn't want to watch them unless the characters were married or got married. haha I was a shipper long before I knew the term. |

I simply refuse to vote.
Julie Andrews has been my all around favorite actress since I was a little kid watching the sound of music over and over (and over) again. However, I respect Maggie tremendously for her range of roles and her incredible talent. So, I just can't do it...sigh

I think it is hard to gauge they are two completely different actresses... don't you think it would be more appropriate to do a poll like Maggie Smith v. Judi Dench? They are more alike. Maggie doesn't have the musical talents, and I don't think Julie has the dramatic shakespearean talents... just my two knuts.

You know? I absolutely love both of them, but I would so have to say Maggie Smith because I am one of the biggest freaks I know of as far as being a great fan of hers and it freaks some of my friends out with some of the knowledge I have of Maggie Smith, so as much as I love Julie Andrews, I'd have to say that Maggie Smith wins by far.... ~mmadlyinlove~

This is a very interesting thread...I'm with mugglemin in that there is no contest It's Maggie all the way for me. I believe it would be fairer to compare Mags to Judi Dench or as Eloquantphoenix suggested Julie Walters. (even then it would still have to be Maggie.). I believe that Maggie has absolutly no idea just how good she is, so she works harder and harder at each role she has...which just makes her even better than everyone else. (and explains the quotes that she wishes she was as good as Judi.) Sorry for rambling..just my humble opinion.
