How did YOU get hooked?

I kinda always thougt they were cute and just had that sneaky feeling....
I was a H|H shipper at first but I read AD|MM with and it took over.
So I read the first book looking for evidence and I awwed and did not stop it.
But it was the end of the 2th movie ( hand holding and sharing loved look) that I was like>
this is my ship, I belong here, I must find my shippmates.... and I found you.
And I love Maggie of course.

I loved Quill of Minerva's/Minerva's Quill stories, and then Nerweniel's (especially May til December which was posted about two weeks after I started Lions' den.) it carried on from there

Well I have to say I was dragged kicking and screaming into the whole Potter universe. I had no intentions of reading Harry Potter or anything linked to it whatsoever. But (fortunately) my best friends bugged me all day long about it and finally I just gave in and started on the first book.

And 10 minutes into reading Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone I was hooked. They just struck me as "grandparents" from the first chapter on. Didn't really help that they soon became my two favourite characters.

Funny enough that was just about the time I had run out of stories to read about Picard/Crusher and John/Delenn (jep another Trekkie/Babylon 5 hippie). So on a whimp I deceided to look for stories about them on ff.net and luckily found a lot. So I've been an addict ever since.

I must say that the first time that i read ch. 1 of SS, I thought that they were a bit closer than was let on. I forgot about after awhile and when I got to reading H/Hr fanfiction, I ran across one that was both H/Hr and AD/MM and I have been hooked since. Blasted FanFiction! Its become like a drug! ;D

Well, more innocent than I am now!! Anyway, after reading the first book at eight years of age, I always thought it was a fabulous idea....then 6 months ago, I stumbled upon a HP fic with AD/MM in it and the rest is history!!

I just always thought that they were the perfect match and though I am not quite sure why I always felt like there was something more to their relationship than the books imply. Not to mention that I am a bit of a romantic (or so my firends say), so the idea just always appealed to me. Then when I came across the world of Fan Fiction I always looked for one about Albus and Minerva. I couldn't find any for the longest time and yet there seemed to be tonnes about people like Severus and Hermoine. The odd one I did find normally had people mentioning this site, the Yahoo group and Infinite Incatatem in their reviews. I have never been all too interested in any other ships or stories. The odd time I am it is because they are believable or ones that aren't subjects that have been written 100 times with minor differences. So, when I came across the specific links for these sites I was in seventh heaven and I haven't stopped reading and checking up on them since.

Well... It's quite a long story.
About three years ago, i was babysitter, and i saw my first HP-movie. That was Chamber of secrets. I liked that movie so lot, that i bought it next day.

Then, i thought that if i like the movies so much, i want to read books too. And then i addicted . Very hard, i afraid.

And, last spring, about in May, i found my first fanfics in internet. They were in finnish, because i am from Finland. I was so exited that i started write my own stories too. There was just one problem: i don't like teen pairings at all. I wanted to read and write adults, because i am adult myself.

Then, about 2 months ago, i got a challenge. They wanted me to write Minerva /Albus fanfic. And there it was. I was totally in love for that pairing. Now and always. Let's say that i am dangerously addicted in this pairing. They are so cute together, so right for each other.

There was only one problem left : I thought that i am alone. Until i found this board about two weeks ago.

After that, i have been stupid grin on my face all the time. I must say, i'm in heaven now. Thank you,

Okay how I got hooked was through a roundabout way. I was mildly yes I use the term mildly addicted to MM/Hooch fics and there is a depressing lack of them. And then on the Staff Lounge before they updated the site I found a story involving Minerva and Albus with Minerva transfiguring Albus' wand into a pair of socks. I was intrigued. Then I found Infinite Incantem and got addicted to Uber Grasshopper's story. I ended up here and am now MM/AD all the way if I have to make Minerva straight.

How did I get hooked? Well, it is much the same story many of you have already told: I am a sucker for ships and I love writing fanfic. I even wrote fanfic about the Waltons – though I think it’s a good thing I never put any of it ‘out there’…
Harry Potter was something I wouldn’t get involved in, so many people reading it, I didn’t want to follow the trend. But after a holiday of three weeks through England and Scotland, I was absolutely hooked. I like Hermione, she reminds me of me and both Albus and Minerva remind me of my grandparents, so I modelled them after them in my mind. I like thinking about them and about their love (even if it isn’t really intended in the books, or is it, do we get that information in book seven? Hope hope hope)
I know I haven’t put much on the board yet, but I read everything with increasing joy!

I was a shipper before I knew what fanfiction ships were. I started off after reading the first books in love with Severus Snape, so I wanted to write a story about him and...someone. I called her Eliza Birch-Thorne, and hada whole elaborate plan...until I read The Forgiveness Within by Kerrymdb on Fanfiction.net, and that was about Tonks and Snape, right after Tonks was introduced, and I decided, oh, I like this.

I had always been a fan of Minerva and Albus, seperatly (always my two fav. characters, after Snape) so one day after finding no really awesome Tonks/Snape fics except for Kerry's (btw, she also has a great Minerva one that has recently become admm!) I thought about writing a fic about Minerva and hooking her up with Albus, because I always thought they were together (or belonged together) anyway, but first I wanted to read any that already were admm, if any existed. So I searched ffnet, and lucky for me, I came across Quill of Minerva and Griselda La Fey and TartanLioness and a few other writers and I was instantly hooked on admm. :-) and have been ever since.

I always loved Albus and Minerva above all the other HP characters and when I finally discovered fanfiction.net, I was using the search engine to look for Dumbledore fics and found a bunch of ADMM. I've been hooked ever since!

Ohh I love remembering this because I get the exact story etc. I think it was 1999 when I read Philosophers Stone, so I was 9(ish). And even then I saw it, I remember the two of them there and I thought they were in love. But yeah, I was 9 and innocent and didn't think about ships etc. Fastforward to early 2005 when I was 15 and I discovered fanfiction. Specifically mugglenetfanfiction. I was a R/H and H/G shipper, and one fateful day (03/03/2005) I went on other pairing and I read angharad's "The Professors' New Clothes" and never looked back. I scoured mugglenet fanfiction for any more AD/MM and found 6 stories, all of which remain favourites of mine, but it just wasn't enough. Angharad kindly pointed me to infinite-incantatem (where I read nearly all the stories, some more than once, in about a week), and one day I decided to go on fanfiction.net too and went straight to Albus/Min and no where else. Then off someone's profile there I came here. And yeah. Addicted. Pretty much 100% hooked. And I can't thank angharad enough, to think all of this came from finding 1 AD/MM story. But it'd be strange now to think of my life without Albus and Min.

I find this quite unbelievable now, but I actually got addicted to ADMM stories through reading an SSMM fic! I don't read SSMM fics any more, I'm not a particular fan of the ship now, but that was how it started.

A friend of mine had sent me the link to an SSMM story, which I found very interesting. The story was unfinished and while waiting for the new chapters, I became impatient and began searching for other stories with the characters "Severus S." and "Minerva M.". After a period of reading fics centred around the two of them, I decided Minerva intrigued me more and I searched for stories with her as Character 1, not specifying another character.

I must admit I wasn't expecting that many stories, but many more than I anticipated showed up and most of them were not SSMM, but ADMM! I was surprised as I had not considered this before and I decided to read one. I'm still kicking myself for not remembering the first ADMM story I read, but whatever it was I became hooked. After I finished reading the SSMM I started (out of curiosity), I abandoned that ship and have been hooked on ADMM ever since.

I've been reading ADMM fanfiction for a lot longer than I've been writing it, as I didn't know if I'd be able to write it realistically. My first ADMM story was called "Hidden Lives" and at the time I was rather pleased with myself (heh), although now I would say it was rather far-fetched. Now I struggle immensely not to include ADMM in my stories (to the extent that I had Hermione's daughter mention "Professor Dumbledore", referring to Minerva, in a H/Hr oneshot). I search for ADMM a lot more often than I search for anything else; I have to confess I am completely obsessed.

I was on ff.net trying to find Charmed, and PD fics. When I found a HP/Charmed fic. It was a AD/MM fic and I thought it was so cute. (I've always thought those two would make a good couple) So I typed 'Albus Minerva' in on the seach bar. Then I found this site. I'm hooked now.

I used to read RL/NT stories on ff.net when I found one with a slight mention of ADMM. For a second, I thought it was weird but then... it clicked! I think I always had them as a couple on the back of my head because 5 minutes later I was searching franticly through ff.net, mugglenet, google, etc. and I found this place. Since then, I don't ship anything else. I'm completely hooked and obsessed, cannot imagine my life without them!

I am a total sucker for suffering in silence love. There is something about these two in the books that is magnified by the thousands in the movies. Plus, how could you not LOVE maggie smith. I read my fist ad/mm fic. on fanfiction.net and I was hooked. my friends laugh when we watch the movies together and i point out little things that prove that they love each other.

I think I got hooked a few years ago when I read the first HP book. I guess it was the way that Minerva and Albus interacted with each other that got my attention. I love to watch the movies and pick out little things between the two of them that you would fail to notice without paying attention.

I was waiting impatiently for the 5th book (I think the 4th had just come out, but I have never been patient) and so I searched on line for harry potter fan sites. One thing led to another and I found myself on sugarquill.net, which I liked but I found myself crazing more. I then decided to brave the dangerous waters of ff.net (on my first attempt I found more trash than story) and fell in love with AD/MM. Although it has been too long to remember which story was my first, I can tell you that I have read way to many stories and loved them all! Several authors mentioned this site, so I finally searched for it and here I am. My friends and family all tease me about my fanfic and AD/MM addiction, but I am hooked and plan to stay that way!

Truthfully I can't really say... I believe I was watching all the movies of harry potter that came out. I finally watched the 4th movie and realized that i hardly see one without the other. I told my sister and she thought I was insane! I looked on the internet for more people like me and finally found this! Naturally I've always adored Minerva, its just until now I've never thought about Albus and her together. Its strange really...

.. then I realized that their characters were simply made to be together! I think that if you can't appreciate love between the old as well as the young, then you're missing out on a whole lot. (JK seems to always write them together.. I mean, wherever there's a minerva, there is an albus!)

okay well my friend showed me this HHr storry called.... I don't remeber, but it had something to do with Merlin. ANyway, after a while I was just looking at the charcters list when you are serching,(on FF) and I saw Minerva. She for some reason was always my favoerite character and SO I clicked. It just whent from there. I think the frist one I read that was really ADMM was A Tabby and her Kit. I <3 thats story. After that, Wel I was addicted. WHoeer said before that it was like a drug, well you are sooooo right. ^__^

Anyway, I was bored one day and stumbled across fanfiction a couple years ago. It happened to be an ADMM fic, and I realized that they were just too cute! And I was hooked and started reading as many as possible (and finally started writing after HBP).

Well, I kinda thought they made a nice couple back when I read the first book, but I was only 8 or 9 then, so I didn't really think about it much.
I never was an avid HP fan, and after HBP I was so annoyed that Dumbledore had been killed that I wanted as little to do with HP as possible.
It was my sister who got me hooked again. She recently learned how to use the internet, and being the Harry Potter fan she is, immediately started reading HP fanfics. I, being the overly curious person I am, wanted to know what she was reading. So one day, I went to the Harry Potter section of FF.N, to see what kind of stuff they had.
The story "Life's Scrapbook" by CLAIRE-ROX caught my eye, and I spent the next few days reading it. I noticed I loved the AD/MM ship and started searching for it.

I just thought they fit. Two powerful leaders, they would be able to relate to each other. And i think Dumbledore is an adorable old man Minerva desires that, she is kind of heart and mind.
